Wind-Up Knight is a high-end 3D action game that will destroy you. That is the first sentence of the Market listing for the new game from development team Robot Invader. Pretty big words to live up to, don't you think? Whether it will actually destroy me or not will have to be seen, but, after watching the gameplay trailer, I can safely say that it looks awesome. Impressive, no? It has more to offer than smooth side-scrolling graphics and a quirky-cute aesthetic appeal, too. According to the dev, it brings 50 soul-crushing levels (perhaps that's the method it uses to destroy you), along with crazy platforming action, four different worlds, power-ups, a "secret card" in every level, and an original soundtrack. The game play is perfect for an android phone. My only gripe is that the buttons are too small and I tend to miss them frequently. Also, I don't quite trust paying for the full version when it circumvents the market. Fix button placement and let me buy it through the market and I'll give 5 stars!

Great graphics, great gameplay and great humor. Although on my Nexus S sometimes the performance is really poor and when I click one of the buttons there is a delay which causes me to die and start over (other times it runs smoothly). This leads me to the fact that a checkpoint system would be a nice addition, since it's frustrating to die near the end of the level (sometimes unrightly,because of the delay) and then you have to start over. Also, reload times could be better.

Purchase not transferable across devices?!! Quite a few devs on the Market are getting mighty greedy lately (Glu Mobile, the bandits behind Bunny Shooter, to name but two). Good luck with building a loyal following.. A game should either be "FREE" -- or a free DEMO -- or a paid FULL version with free future updates to follow -- or a paid FULL version with in-app extras to be purchased, or not, at the buyer's discretion. Quit trying to nickle & dime us, devs -- all you're doing is sabotaging your own name.

I bought the extra levels, but I was disappointed by the fact that my purchase doesn't work across my devices (sharing the same account), so I can't play it on my tablet, unless I pay for the same game again. I really think you should warn about this stuff, and even better - release demo and paid versions, then the users will know what they are paying for. Otherwise, not a bad game, but I'll definitely pass Robot Invader the next time..

Great Game! However I have one problem. The wind-down runs at different speeds on my Xoom and my Nexus One. The knight winds down sooner on the N1. In one case it makes it impossible to get the card on the N1 where there's plenty of time on the Xoom (Book 1, Chapter VIII).

Also, I would ask for options where you can control sound (I often play on the train and prefer to mute sound/music) as well as the back button or some menu to exit the app. Great work devs!

This is a terrific game, with awesome graphics and music, easy-to-master controls, and a great sense of style and humor. It can be VERY hard at points, so patience is a must. I'm really not a fan of the business model though where you're required to make in-app purchases to continue playing. I would have happily paid up front for this, but I saw no indication that the experience would be incomplete by itself. That just feels shady to me (especially with the "install random crap for in-app money" links).

The levels are just the right length to make the extreme difficulty manageable. All of you begging for checkpoints are pitiful. Go ask your mom to get you past the hard levels.
