You know that Vonage commercial with the Japanese rock group touring around the United States playing for some bumpkins in the middle of nowhere? Now that can be you, too, Android users. Vonage has released their Extensions app enabling free VoIP calling to international locations without the need to sign up for additional service beyond your in-home Vonage plan. Unlike similar apps already in the Market app that offer discounted calls, the calling might be free but the plan certainly isn’t. Won't see this is my app list I installed in HTC incredible. But the app never shows up in the list of apps. I go to the Android market place each time to invoke this app.

Minor bug Not working with ICS Stuck on registration screen for galaxy nexus gsm version. (Android 4.0.2 aka ICS) Can't click the next button in registration screen. Looks like the next button is always disabled. Edit : worked fine after manually entering the number instead of the pre populated number. Still a minor bug which needs to be fixed. Great app between.

dont think of it as an extension for your business what it does: lets you make international calls at your vonage rates rather than your phone's carrier rates (international dialing must not be blocked in your control panel or you'll get an obscure error) what it doesn't do: doesn't show your vonage line's caller id when placing calls doesn't allow your phone to receive calls made to your vonage number a better name for this app would be vonage international, it's not for adding an extension to your vonage line (try google voice)

Liked Vonage ... now simply Love it! This allows me to call my friends out of the USA by using my landline free int'l calling plan avoiding paying for one for my mobile!

The app SMART DIAL is the way to go. This app lacks the call interceptor... needs alot of improvement... start with dialing from the phone book!

Cannot dial mobile # in India I can dial landlines but not a mobile number. I don't understand why as I can dial the number from my normal voyage phone at home. No support either

No WiFi Can't use this app over WiFi-only over cell network (3G, 4G, etc). I thought the point was supposed to be avoiding cell charges, not just air mins...

Can't u dial directly from PhoneBook like Google Voice identifies the dialled number straight from phonebook as int'l and routes them via Google?

Nice App.. But difficult in dialing It should have an option of prefixing the international codes for calls (in case I use contact list from the phone). Doesn't allow pasting the numbers as well. Forces you to store international number on phone book. Rest all good.

Not as useful as expected This app calls a different access number each time u use it. There is no setting to specify a fixed number so I end up calling that local number.

crashes every single time on Nexus S any time i chose any contact, it crashes..tried it in the past, gave up, uninstalled. Voange started sending out emails about this app again. reinstalled hoping they have fixed the problem. no change whatsoever...Please roll out apps that actually work..thanks

Force Closes on Contact Selection Droid 3 on latest Gingerbread version force closes every time a contact is selected. Unable to use at this time.

Keeps crashing and can't hear the other side For a free app, I think it's a nice implementation of the ongoing vonage expectations. However, the app needs to become more stable over time. I can hear the other side once every 3-4 times. So I have to keep retrying from my Nexus S. The app also force closes once a while.

Calls work ok bit incessant crashing must be fixed On gingerbread with tmobile g2 the most basic operations like looking up a contact crashes. Also it always crashes after a call is terminated.

Good, but why it uses Data? It's almost good, but I wonder why it requires data or WiFi. I don't use data plan on my phone. It should be pretty straight forward, just dial vonage access number+pin+phone number; here why it needs to access data for everytime I dial number. If it is needed for initial authentication, then for one time it is ok, but it is asking for internet for everytime I dial number using this app. Also 10$ for extra extension is not fair. I prefer to dial manually than using this app, just bcos it requires internet.

No speed dial, always you need to enter the pin. (settings of app should have a way to store the access number and pin (We dont need to enter this information each time) There should be favorites of the numbers you often call. This is no rocket science and I dont know why it takes these ppl so long to do half baked app. I wish I could rate it 0

9 out of 10 times it crashes. If it works the audio is horrible for international calls. This is total crap.
Would have liked the offer to be tiered. eg. $5 for first two and $10 for 3rd line and $15 for 4th. Capping at 4 makes more sense so u can gift this..

Network preferences grayed out. Should be able to dial without starting extensions app direct from dialer, which is how Google voice calling works.

We are family of 5 and have Vonage at home. All 5 of us use Vonage per our plan. This app only allows one android phone registration per Vonage acct.

Each time the app dials a different access number; which doesnt enable me to use my 'friends & family' feature with my wireless carrier, that helps me avoid minutes... Minus the review for this.. otherwise seems good. So, I may not use this app just for this reason. Will have to stick to one access number so my cell phone company doesnt charge for those minutes.. Also dont like the extra money for additional extension.

My family's Vonage is shared among 3 people yet only 1 can have an extension. Other extensions cost $10/month!? Sucks. I will keep using Skype.
