Of course, you probably know about this one, but Read It Later is oh so incredibly useful for saving all the articles and news stories I find while commuting or waiting in line. Even when I'm trying to go cold turkey and lay off reading political news, it's a godsend for media junkies like me. It couldn't be easier to use, though you will need an account to get started. When you find an interesting article, you can slide it over to your "queue" for safekeeping. It's great for periods when you're just browsing for a few minutes and don't have time to peruse a whole story. Then, once you're ready, you can access it later either on your phone or on another device. What's more, the Android app will download the content to your SD card so you can read it when data or Wi-Fi access isn't available. That's nice.

I love this app! TA is my go-to whenever I'm planning a trip! Only thing I don't like is the picture viewer resets on the mobile version every time the app is interrupted (e.g. Receiving a text, sleep mode, etc.) Other than that I love it! A travelers must-have!

I found this app very useful. It could use some improvements however. I wish it included links to the websites of restaurants so you can see menu/prices. Also, when finding hotels, it would be helpful if it listed which exits the hotels nearby are on.

I find trip advisor very useful, and I use regularly online. However, the android app has some serious issues, and I refuse using it till they are fixed. The list includes: - No possibility to change currency (or I did not find it) - it displays everything in british pounds. - the hotel listing: search results disappear regularly when I try to return there with back key, especially after using a browser to check prices and booking availability. - You cannot browse search history.

My family just finished an 8 day vacation in the beautiful Shenandaoh Valley, Va. Trip Advisor was an incredibly useful tool. Traveling with 7 people ages 5 to 60; 2 of which are on the very restrictive palio-diet; from Merritt Island, Fl. -Shenandaoh Valley, Va. Being able to find the most convent La Quinta; restaurants that fit my brother and sister's diet;& local attractions to fit the whole family needs in one application made on-the-go planning a snap. I love the DC city guild also. TRAVEL EASY!
This app is great but it won't allow me to change the currency. I live in Australia & therefore it would be better if I could view hotels etc in AUD rather than £.

Have used many times. It is accurate and easy to use. It would be nice if it added camping / caravan sites to its list. It would then truly be a one stop shop. Otherwise great app.

It is much faster than using it on web browser but I didn't see an option for multicity which is easily viewed on web browser.

TripAdvisor itself is amazing, but their mobile app and mobile webapps are both absolutely terrible. On android, leaving and returning to the app will commonly cause you to start all over again. The mobile version appears to be missing hundreds of entries as well for nearly everywhere. I almost always just use the desktop site even from a mobile whenever possible!

App itself works well enough, the major annoyance and reason I don't use it very often: going back from say, restaurant details takes you all the way back to starting a whole new search. Seriously? Also, using Bing maps in an Android app, you're having a laugh. So that's two stars off of five.

Generally seems to offer the majority of functionality of the web app. Doesn't crash often on ICS. Haven't noticed it as a battery hog... generally a solid app with useful functionality. One wish: to do a better job of caching text entered into form fields (eg when composing a review) - I spent a long time composing a review and then had to put my phone aside for a few minutes, and I turned off the screen. When I returned, I had lost all the text I entered.

Looks good at first but it only shows hotel accommodation. It's hard to find other accommodation typed unless you know them by name. Tripadvisors categories seem wrong some of their 'hotels' are not hotels at all. This app is s bit miss leading, seems to be missing lots of info that's on the full web site

I really like this app. It is very helpful to read reviews in new areas, or to try something new. The only complaint I have is the locations don't get updated very quickly. I've come across places, which have been there for over a year, and still aren't listed in trip advisor. Also, places that have been closed over a year and are still listed. Overall, though, this is a great tool.

Not as useful as the website itself, and has bugs like it quotes the wrong currency and search filters are hit and miss. Could be a lot better. And most certainly needs an exit button (trying to exit the app is a bloody nightmare) and a way to turn off the annoying instance to get your location.

The app constantly searches for GPS signal (shown in the notification area), even while just reading reviews, etc. Please fix as the app currently wastes so much battery, it is unusable when there isn't a charger nearby.

Really good app as far as I can tell. Only had it a day and am very impressed. Does a cheap flight seach which is very handy. Also the forum is brilliant. Good layout. Easy to use. Little slow at first but once it has "warmed up" its also very smooth

As there are no restrictions or verification of reviews anyone can comment regardless of having stayed at a location or not. All you need is an e-mail address and a vendetta. Restrictions are only applied to the poor people being attacked using this site. If only people that enjoy them selves had the compulsion to rate then this might be a more fair forum. Rated zero.

This is basically the same (great) info available on the Tripadvisor web site. Unfortunately mapping still takes you to Bing, rather than the much better Google Maps built into the phone. This makes it very frustrating to navigate to restaurants for example.

I love the app and the site, but the recent move to Bing Maps has made it almost useless. Bing Maps can't even center properly on the location and it tells me that I moved the map :P Also extremely slow to pan and zoom. Could I humbly ask for a paid version that uses Google Maps?

They use MS Bing for maps and it is a joke. Never works and can't find anything (touring vietnam). I have to write the info down and put it in google maps. Bing must be paying them a bucket load of cash to be worth it. Update, : was 3 stars, but they got rid of bing, now it's perfect

The main reason tripadvisor mobile was useful has just been removed! The map link now only leads to an internet browser based bing location. I manage all my favorite and planned locations on Google maps. I have no use for tripadvisor on my mobile anymore.

If you're asking what's the difference between 'Yelp!' And this? The big difference are the quality reviews. Unlike 'Yelp!' where the reviews are posted right away without having someone review them for accuracy, TripAdvisor does this to make sure legitamit reviews are made. Yelp seems to have more locations in its database but I think TripAdvisor will be adding more soon.

U can check hotels, restaurants, & attractions ....w/ lots of customer reviews which are a major help! Their website is great too. Even shows customer pics of the things ur lookin for. Great app, I spend a lot of time just browsing.
Not sure about pricing accuracy, but none the less a very helpful tool for pre-planning as well as during your vacation.

Great app for travellers I would like to see a couple of improvements though. 1. Ability to resize fonts, not all mobile screens are the same size. Some text is far too small to read on the go. 2. Filter results by distance. If I am walking something a long way away is meaningless to me. 3. Sorting of results based on different criteria - e.g., by average rating, rank, distance, etc. 4. Filter results to only those with photos 5. Filter results to those with more than say x reviews ... More later review

We are locals at mclaren vale and like to try different places. We had lunch at Maxwells today and it was average. We had 4 entrees, the pork belly being the stand out but the pork tarine, they say you eat with your eyes, this looked like a fine slice of what we feed our dogs. Moosh pushed together with fig jam on top. Beer batter chips, too battered, ive had lighter and more tasty. Oysters were ok, squid was not bad and the 2011 verdelho was great at just $15 a bottle. Toilets in the restaurant are filthy.

I am a big fan of Trip Advisor generally, and often use their website when researching where I want to stay or things to do when i'm travelling. That said, there are two crucial features I think this app is missing which makes it a huge let down in my opinion (which I'd love to see implemented if any of the developers are listening): 1) Internet access required to use the app. When I first envisioned Trip Advisor on my phone it was for the specific purpose of being able to write a review for something when I didn't have access to a computer or internet connectivity. That way I wouldn't need to make extensive notes only to transcribe into a review at a later date. My thought was I could rate the service, cleanliness etc. as my trip went by and simply have to find an internet connection and hit "submit". This goes with my suggestion that users should be able to download a location's core information to their phone (i.e. w/o reviews,pics,vids). 2) Syncing between my web profile and my phone If I save a hotel or trip on my computer (or vice versa) I think it would only make sense to have it sync with my phone (at least the option would be nice).

I like Trip Advidor and find the reviews very usefull. However it uses Bing-maps which are a pain in the a$s, and making it hard to find the restaurants. Would be 5-star with google-maps.

I have spent a few minutes trying to find flights on both Kayak and Trip Advisor. TA is much slower and offers a less inviting interface than Kayak. If there are alerts offered for good fares I haven't found them yet.

New version has really messed up the tablet version. Many hotels and restaurants etc no longer appear. It seems like if no location is specified, it won't show it. This is a problem where I live in Kenya as most things are listed without a location. This problem does not exist on my phone.

This is just the mobile website. It's good but you might as well bookmark the site and save your memory for something else

Program is ok. It does hit the gps a lot for no reason. Should only take one hit or hit it every 10 min or so to see where your at.

Needs some work. Want ability to log into my tripadvisor acct. Upload photos, write reviews etc. Make the experience as close as pssbl to website.

On N1 android 2.2: GPS usage is perfectly fine and very brief. App is well made and quite practical.
