Android: Root Uninstaller is a utility for Android phones that allows you to remove multiple apps from your phone at once, freeze pre-installed apps to free up space and resources, and even create APKs from pre-installed apps so you can install them on a new phone. Root Uninstaller isn't as robust as the previously mentioned Titanium Backup when it comes to backing up and saving all of your apps, settings, and data. However, one thing it does that Titanium doesn't do is create APKs from already-installed apps. My backup finished at 3.01 and I have the usual notification but I also have a dodgy 'Sexy Cutie (Live)' advert notification at 3.01 as well! Addons Detector doesn't detect anything so I'm thinking it's not Air Push or anything like that but instead something built into this??? I've used this for years and not had anything like this! Why back up protected apps if TB (PRO, btw) cannot restore them, because TB hangs? I cannot transfer my apps from Unity to Affinity. TB dies every time and every run I try to restore anything. And it fails not only protected apps, but seems to die with random apps also. It never managed to finish any batch. However, singular operations with freezing and restoring particular apps are just fine.

I've always used this app to backup app data and uninstall un-needed bloatware but recently I tried to update and it says insufficient storage space available when I have well over 300MB of internal memory. But, I noticed this bug when you don't have the "Non Market Downloads" (in the settings) checked when you try to restore something it tells you to go to settings and change it (which is ok) but when you go back to app it's stuck at the restoring part and I gatta re-install it :( on ICS by the way...

It's been a long time since I have had any issues using this. Rock solid, easy to use and consistently updated (no chance they sleep). On my ASUS TF- 101 and Galaxy Nexus, TBP 5.1.0 sends actual file transfer date & time to Google Drive, instead of original or last modified, with the result that every sync writes every file, with a new date and time, with a buildup of redundant files in Google Drive on subsequent syncs. Doesn't have that problem syncing to Dropbox. Update: per Titanium, the file time stamps aren't actually the underlying cause, and I may have a unique problem that they haven't been able to replicate, but they are working diligently with me to find a solution, and I'm sure we'll be back on track soon. In the meantime, the Dropbox sync is working for me 100%, so it isn't hampering me.

The only thing worse than TB is the fact that Android has nothing better to offer. See the "5 star" review below: "…takes some time to get to grips with…" WHY?! If the devs spent some time creating decent UI's, menus, and documentation, then it wouldn't "take some time to get to grips with." If you're a heavy modder, then this is the B/U app. for you. If not, this is still the app. for you, but you'll waste a lot of time with it.

This is an absolutely amazing app, an a must have 4 anyone with a rooted phone. It backs everything up and then when you install a new ROM etc.. all you have to do is download this app again from the market an everything you backed up is there ready for you to redownload again. An its a life saver for someone like me who plays a lot of games, as it also backs up the data so once u re install ur app/game ur at the same level u were at when u backed it up. Which is very handy. Highly recommend this app. :-)

Would love to see Google Drive support added in a future update. I am currently Sync'ing to DropBox but I have had a paid Google account with more storage than I can possibly ever use (famous last words) and would love for TB to be able to utilize it. Otherwise, the program is a life and time saver. Especially for us who live to play with different ROMs all the time. Just upgraded my original Epic 4G to CyanogenMod 9 (ICS) and was back up and functioning with all my favorite apps in just a couple minutes instead of hours or days re-downloading everything from Google Play.

Encryption doesn't work! I have it enabled, but my backups are all in plaintext! There's no way to sync to Dropbox except via the Schedules screen. EVERY time I try syncing, it ends with "Sync to Dropbox failed." No reason--just "failed". I set up a Dropbox account just to use it with TB, and it doesn't even work! Does it retry, like any sync feature should? I guess not. I can sync many hundreds of MB with FolderSync and it doesn't fail on me--why can't TB do the same? TB should NOT force my screen to stay on during operations, with no option not to. I also hate the way, when schedules are run, the only way to monitor progress is via the notification. Many times I've tried to freeze or defrost an app, TB would say it did so successfully, but the app was NOT frozen or defrosted, and the TB interface even indicated as much. I've had problems converting user apps to system apps, including cases where it succeeded but got stuck on a progress screen for no reason. I ALWAYS get a stupid error when I try viewing Market info, no matter how I set the options. I asked a simple question via email, and was completely ignored (except for the deceitful "we got your question" response). Garbage!

It took a little bit of research, but I was able to backup and restore my tablet after flashing with new firmware. After using titanium backup successfully a couple of times now I doubt that I will use anything else. With all of the valueble information I store on my tablet, I can't afford not to back it up. I would like to see a guided tutorial in such a powerful program though.

The list of apps in the Market Auto Updates feature is empty. This used to work, not sure how long it's been broken. Also, apps that have been "detached" from Market/Play still show up in the list of installed apps. This used to work as well.

Then managed to get new system and just restored every piece of sortware with all settings, games achievements etc with Titanium Bckp. I have to do restore in "interactive" mode and also, sometimes it crashes and needs to satrat from there again. Why would one need root? Titanium is one of the answers. On the other hand there are lots of people who never change roms, never factory reset, never lose their phones, so for them it is not so essential.

If you try to do a batch restore of apps, but tell it to cancel one app install or click the back button, it will get stuck and never finish, then need to restart phone to try again.

I definitely wouldn't value the pro version at almost $7 which ironically is more than it's advertised price in app. UI really should be updated; Android has come a long way. This may have been okay on Froyo but this should match the elegance of ICS. I had issues in the past with apps not restoring data correctly but it seems to be fixed now. Also, apps don't detach at all on SGS2 and Xoom. Half of what you pay for doesn't work.

UPDATE: taking SuperSU out of the app list is a step backwards. It eliminates the possibility of backing it up, restoring it, or moving it to /system/app using Titanium. As soon as you root your phone, then first thing to do is boot to CWM and make a Nandroid breakup. The second thing to do is to download Titanium Backup and backup all your user and system apps, and data. Next, you will want to copy these off of your sdcard. Enjoy Titanium Backup. You will soon want to pay for the pro key.

For some reason after I updated my ROM TiBackup failed to locate backups on the SD card and I thought I had lost everything, but after manually restarting the App it found its data and was able to restore the lieks of my Opera bookmarks, and data for some of my apps that I wanted to get back. Even worked on the amazon apps I tried.

I love everything about this app except for the batch operation. If it stops for any reason (can't install an app) I have to start all over again. I have to go to settings, find it, force close it, and then re-open it. Sometimes I don't want to restore certain apps, so I also to un-check every box again. A lot of times it's more than once, It's a little annoying since I like to changeROMS every now and then. I hope you guys fix this.

As soon as you root your phone, then first thing to do is boot to CWM and make a Nandroid breakup. The second thing to do is to download Titanium Backup and backup all your user and system apps, and data. Next, you will want to copy these off of your sdcard. Enjoy Titanium Backup. The easiest way to avoid having to reinstall everything manually after a wipe. It doesn't fully backup apps that keep a part of their data on /sdcard, and it doesn't take kindly to being interrupted with a Cancel during a batch restore, but those grievances are minor compared to the trouble this app has saved.

Seems it doesn't have the option to restore app after uninstalling it. I found out that when you uninstall apps the backup are also removed completely. No way to restore them back which is normally done for troubleshooting misbehaving apps. Ultimate backup has that feature why not TB?

This rating would have been 5 stars if the default backup locatipn wpuld have been the external SD card, NOT the internal memory. This small, but crucial change made me lose all my data. Let's think this through logically: Titanium backup is usually for people who flash custom ROMs. If the flash bootloops, they restore their data by flashing to stock, and using Titanium backup. They also usually factory reset to make sure it works, which erases the internal memory, deleting you backups. Please change this.

Overall really help me for flashing my phone. but about 10% of backups are error of "parsing error". so i can't restore them :( and it must be force stopped when fail in restoring, or if we cancel the restore in the middle of process. (or if there's any way not to force stop, it means it has a bad UI that i can't see how not to force stop)

fantastic change adding external sdhc backup. wiping samsung captivate wipes the internal 16gb sd card deleting backups. now able to backup to external 32gb sdhc, which stays intact unless erased/modified intentionally via usb. now i no longer have to continously copy internal sd to folder on PC. had to backup a copy of the current titanium backup apk for side loading with gemini. why wont titanium back itself up? keep copy of license on external sdhc, worth every penny thanx.

fantastic change adding external sdhc backup. wiping samsung captivate wipes the internal 16gb sd card deleting backups. now able to backup to external 32gb sdhc, which stays intact unless erased/modified intentionally via usb. now i no longer have to continously copy internal sd to folder on PC. had to backup a copy of the current titanium backup apk for side loading with gemini. why wont titanium back itself up? keep copy of license on external sdhc, worth every penny thanx.

This app is awesome but everytime I freeze/uninstall/move to SD or any function it says processing and please wait forever (literally) unless I force close, the requested function gets completed but am unable to do anything without force closing. I can work around this by pressing the search button on my EVO 4G which will get rid of the processing window but on my tablet I don't have that button so FCing is the only fix.

for simple backup/recovery if you plan to flash your rom this app won't be much use because after you flashed your rom you have to reinstall this app and you wont be able to recover data backed up in previous rom. i would use x-recovery for backing up your phone system data/apps
