If you haven't gotten a chance to play around with SPB's Shell 3D launcher, I highly recommend you do so immediately. I won't go into too much detail, as our own Phil Esposito reviews the app in the video below, but I can tell you that this launcher is top-notch software. Obviously, a lot of work has gone into developing the UI of Shell 3D, and it shows. If I can find one complaint, it would be the lack of any type of landscape orientation. SPB, the popular mobile software company has taken their SPB mobile shell to new heights. It's been quite some time since we first saw what SPB Software was working on for Android, way back at Mobile World Congress in February 2010. But today, finally, we have SPB Shell 3D. It's a launcher replacement for Android, born from years of success on Windows Mobile, and we've been quite impressed with it in our several days of testing. My Apps keep getting deleted from there folders because you can only have 1 app in a folder at a time. Thats stupid! For the price id expect better, you need to fix this! Other than that is cool

Uninstalled/re-installed several times over a period of 8 months on Samsung Galaxy. Frequently freezes phone - must remove battery to restart. Also locks up in (make a) Call mode, and CameraVideo mode. The picture gallery feature would be great if you offered your buyers the option to show photos from their personal gallery instead of Picasa only as the current personal gallery is limited to 1 line of tiny pics. Would like to see the Picasa page changed to personal gallery. Calendar and Birthday features are excellent, love those. I also like the personal folders icons. The weather is totally innacurate. The other screens are useless and sit dormant in the edit room. - Offer a full size personal gallery page (from phone pics) - Offer a music page - Make app stop freezing!

I'm running ICS on a transformer prime. I love everything about this app, except it frequently (avg once per hour) crashes and has to reload. Since it's the entire home screen UI, that's a fairly significant issue. I'll up this to 5 if it ever stabilizes. Or drop it to 3 once they've used up my patience. Edit: you know what? At this price, plus the crashes, we're really at a 2. Edit 2: I'm sick of the crashing. It's a 1.

So far I've ran this on my Galaxy S, Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Geo, and Wildfire S and was quite surprised with the quality and responsiveness across all of these devices. This is my go to launcher and well, well worth the money

If only scrolling through the desktops would rotate around like the editing function when you edit the panels, instead of going all the way to the left or right then being stuck and then having to scroll all the way to the other side. I would like to scroll right around and around without changing direction.

Every time I reboot, my widgets go back to the default location and my Android widgets disappear. Emailing devs...frustrating, but that's the only issue. Works great otherwise.

This app really needs to get rid of the loading screens so often, also needs a way to disable/enable wallpaper scrolling. With it on, I find myself with wallpapers that are super zoomed in and pixelated even at the max resolution I can set for a wallpaper. Galaxy note

Can't say enough about SPB Shell 3D! Using it on my EVO 3D and it has never frozen or rebooted even one time. Very, very smooth transitions. As others have said, more widgets would be nice. As for the price, well, $14.95 is a lot. But if your like me then your phone is a very personal thing and kind of an extension of yourself. Looking at it this way, a one time fee of this size is not that big of a deal.

I use it as my daily launcher, and runs smooth and well.however everytime I clear my cache it closed and needs to reload. Never used to do that. Doesn't like live wallpaper that much, but I still believe its the best Ever launcher out there. Looks way better than all others. Not sure its worth the price, however they have the best widgets. (does take a while to organise the pages and get used to how it runs, but same could be said about all launchers)

Dell Streak Won't open on dell streak, and yet will work on lower spec orange San Francisco, not happy. I'm a tenner down Update = now works great after a few reboots. Really great gui, however resource hungry games won't load properly with this launcher only. Support not very good. Now works perfectly on gingerbread update.

I love this launcher worth every penny. I especially the the customisable panels & yhe abilty to resize most widgets. Oh & the best is having all your apps grouped in pretty little folders with little icons of all your spps when it is vlsed then when you click on a folder it opens up to displau full size ones accross your screen awesone & with no limit as to how many you can put in there. I have more tha 25 games for e.g. Lurve It!

The motion of launcher is stunning, it is amazing smoothly. However that's just it. It is limited, not able to custom looks and apps. For $15 launcher app, you would think you have lot of options. Definitely not worth the price. If the app are go launcher and spb shell altogether then it would be absolutely perfect.

I bought this app and made the mistake of charging it to my T-Mobile account. Can't refund it now and I no longer want it after 30 mins of use. I've been using this app for 4 hours now and the app itself runs great. The app drawer is a little choppy if you add 3D scroll but other than that smooth. I don't like how I can't organize my icons on the launcher bar. I'm forced to have 3 icons and only in those spots. Basically I could have bought ADW launcher for way less and been happier.

Well, I was wondering whether to shell out almost £10 for this application as it needs to be something special to justify that price tag. Does it? Well, I'm still in two minds. I love the launcher and UI. The birthdays widget is great as is calendar. But, the current level of customisation and options are a bit limited. For example, the pictures panel only offers synchronisation with Flickr - so where's Picasa synchronisation, as this is Android?? Changing wallpaper?? So, let's hope for further updates.

I bought this 8 months ago for my droid charge but my charge hated it. Too laggy. But i just got an LG Spectrum and this launcher runs super smooth on it. Been running 3 days and it hasnt lagged one time. No crash, no redraws, nothing but buttery smoothness. I do wish it had folders for the app drawer and more folder styles. But all in all this app is wonderful.

This is a great shell. Probably the best one available. The problem however is that every other time I hit the home button it makes the shell reload. Also, a lot of the times that I try to 'back' out of an app, it will reload ever app that I have used recently and make me close those as well. Overall, not really worth the money until these issues are fixed.

I love my HTC Evo 3d UI so I won't put this app on it but I do run it on my Samsung tab.it runs smoothly and blows Sammy's ui out of the water

Where to start. This is the best launcher I have found for my Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab. The landscape mode is awesome. But the price is very much a turn off. And when compared to my phones HTC Sense interface the added widgets seem kind of second rate. The lack of an Email Widget is also a turn off. But for my tablets which my children use for watching Netflix and games it is a fantastic launcher.

I have been asking these people for a app hider feature to hide the junk apps that come pre-installed on the phone but have never actually done it. The always say the will but don't. They are all talk but if all of you our there like my idea, please send a email to them. Like mlk said that if one person protests, he is ignored but if thousands do it then it is easily recognized.

Update: running this on top of ICS Verizo GNexus works best in portrait I prefer landscape mode but what it needs is a rotational lock. I like the labs section. More widgets please.

Works really good on my E3d, but for the price I thought it would be a little more. Like I said, SPB works great, my phone has no problems switching between HTC home and SPB home. HTC sense works "some what", minus some of the personalization I mean. SPB is unique and very pretty. I hope SPB does not end it here and add some cool updates, otherwise, to pay the 14 dollars and change like I did, its not really worth it. Sorry SPB.

Price is steep but I totally love it! My only complaints are with some of the widgets. The scrolling text messages are sweet, but I apparently can't fix the time stamp so it's 5 hours off. Also the birthday widget is cool, but it only shows one because it doesn't use any birthday info from my contacts that come from Facebook. I can still use all my Widgets I already had but the 3D ones are awesome. I had a question for tech support & they got back to me within 2 days. Motorola Electrify USCC.

The interface looks good, and have very nice widgets, but it's slow to load, and returning back to the home screen shows a blank screen saying that you need to wait before it loads, at least takes a minute. Using a Galaxy Nexus

Makes my phone experience easier and more pleasurable. That said, at £9 it's not really worth it, would get a refund if I could. Also sometimes I have to wait a long time for it to load, which isn't what you want for a home screen. Running on Galaxy Ace.

I love the look and feel of it, but it slows down my Motorola Atrix like crazy. Often stalls and tries to load the shell for half a minute or more when exiting apps. Great for people who crave form over function.

I love this app. I got stuck with the boring Samsung Galaxy S II and bought this 3D Launcher to liven up the place. I love out so far. My only quirk is the inaccurate weather. C'mon we all know its not 18 degrees in the spring. Also, out works be nice if you could select which pictures you wasn't displayed on the photo gallery widget. I've never paid for an app before... I expect perfection for $15 bucks.other than those things I love it so far.

It's a nice launcher, but at it's current state its not worth the price tag. Reloads all the time, even when there is plenty of memory. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Once this gets sorted out, I'll change this review, until then it seams things need to look a bit dirty for them to maybe fix the issues.

on the droid x 2 it was kind of slow and would lock up. but on the bionic it runs like a champ. I had a razr as well, it worked perfect on it too. not too many people have it so when my friends see it they are very surprised.

For this to be a truly great launcher, it needs to have a scrolling dock bar which is a standard in today's launchers The addition of being able to use your own icons would also be a good thing. Integrate more widgets like Twitter and Facebook etc.

I purchased and install it to my Lenovo A60 Android Gingerbread. It works but it always prompt me this word "SPB Shell 3D is loading.... then if not successful it will prompt again saying. " Safe mode, The previous launch of SPB Shell 3D was unsuccessful. Please tap Retry to launch it again or Home to activate a different Home screen". It appear again and again and again everytime I change my wallpaper, and even when I go to my contacts,messages, games and other applications. SPB Software dissapoint me. I hope that they will fix these problem.

Wow. Such a beautiful interface and finally, Evo 3D support in the landscape 3D settings. The only issue is that the interface is partially covered up by the notification bar when 3D is enabled. Otherwise, perfect.

Very good. I've been pretty happy with the app, but wish it had a few more widgets, especially considering the price. Also, the ability to export my settings would be REALLY nice. I get it all set up the way I like, and would love to save that to the SD card. Also, adding apps to folders could be handled better, and a way to sort the apps within the folders would be nice too.

I was a little leary of spending $14.95 on this app, but I'm really enjoying it, and I'm glad I dived in. It runs "buttery smooth" on my Razr. Weather widget needs work-just like everyone says, but this launcher does a lot right, and is very stable. A bonus is how great it looks and runs on my Galaxy Tab 7 plus.

It's a great app, but I wish there were more widgets and that the message widget, specifically, would be animated not just on the 3D scrolling feature, but also when you are looking at each home page individually. I hope you guys can work on that because the Rolodex feature is really cool, but the flat message widget, showing only the last message received isn't so attractive or user friendly. Maybe even make the message widget with a list view so you can see the last 5 messages or so, instead of just one.

The best visuals I've seen on a launcher and really easy to use. SPB widgets are great too. Switched it to Tablet mode on my Galaxy Note and it looks superb! Only complaint is that Live Wallpaper slams performance but they warn about that. Definitely worth what initially would seem a steep £10.

I like the eye candy of the app. The concept as a standalone application is nice. What it lags is the integration with other apps. Why can I not set my own calendar application to open ? Desktop calendar doesn't show national holidays, Worldclock can have only 3 places, Dialogs closed when changing orientation, each icon can be used only once, When it suddenly lags it makes your phone freeze for long time, Flicker panel is nice, I want to do that with my own photos, but it's not possible. Dell Streak: wifi and backlight switch not working Overall I think the application still has to major. It still feels like a technology preview. The app is great....when I had a droid x. Just got a droid razar yesterday and this app works like a breeze. The only issue that I have is that the razar widgets don't work or show up on this app like the contacts widget. Given that the razar OS is far greater upgraded than the droid x, it would be nice to have these feature work on the razar or incorporated as well after spending 14.00 dollars. Thanks.

The U.I. is slick and responsive on my Motorola Atrix (dual core) but every once in a while when switching from an app back to home screen the load time is extended(20-30 secs) but overall a quality user experience- if you listen to the developer and not attempt to install on a flip Vic-20 you should be happy.

This launcher is off to a good start but has a long way to go to make it anywhere near as customizable as ADW Ex. At the moment definitely not worth a rather exorbitant $15. Its default panels are handy for those that don't want to be bothered with customizing but are still pretty basic. The weather for my area is off by 2 to 3 degrees. The so-called innovative ideas are okay but basically eye candy. The folders need ability to customize more. There are much better launchers out there at the moment.

Just like MAC mentioned below. Think 4 times before buying it. Look: It FC a lot if I use emails or check anything in the web or in the market. It can't work with cool customizable unlock screen programs and it doesn't have one, which means you are stuck with the same you have. This sucks because you can't get this kind of thing in 15 minutes, therefore it's your money and the time you spend to try to reorganise your phone that you won't see back. Think really well before hitting the "purchase " button.

If you ever add colors please consider bright pink, light pink, lavender, dk. purple, blood red, orange, gray, sky blue, clear. Well if you invested a large amount of money into a smartphone, thеn this launcher is worth it and it definitely turns some heads. I`m a "graphics wh*re", so I liked it a lot, but it`s not very usefull, and for it`s price, I think it should atleast have some themes. As a whole - if you have a smartphone with a price tag that could feed a small third world village, and you like shiny 3d stuff, then you would like it and justify it`s price for yourself. Oh, and if you live in Soviet Russia, check out Yandex Shell, it`s free for teh brothers :)

First off by the time you get a full sense of the product your refund window closes. There is ZERO app drawer functionality! There are free solutions that allow you to sort, group, create folders, etc all within the app drawer.... NOT WITH THIS THOUGH. Also when in pretty carousel mode you can't click on a screen to go directly to the screen. Yes this thing is pretty but lacks A TON of functionality you find in free home screen replacement solutions. They don't offer a trial....RED FLAG ANYONE?

My sincere apologizes. I was able to go into settings and check auto orientation which WORKS! Also found "experimental" settings which have allowed me to use live wallpapers (not a problem on SGH i727 Galaxy 2 Skyrocket). I can resize widgets and do a host of others customizations. The animations are a huge WOW factor! SPB developers are genius! They seems to be updating constantly. I could spend days (probably will) setting up and enjoying this launcher! It has become my absolute all-time favorite app!

Nice app but, it rather expensive for just some nice panel movement. Backing out of apps don't revert back to app menu, just back to the panels. When you go back into the app menu, it should start where you were last, not back at the top. I don't know how SPB Shell 3D gets its weather feed but, there is absolutely no way it is 3° outside. Please find a better way to obtain accurate weather reports.

Ill start with good app, not great. Very slow scrolling on desktop panels on my asus transformer prime, not acceptable for an app costing well over $3 and compared to other launchers. Also reloads about 75% of the time after closing an app. This launcher really completes a tablet its a shame it cant perform on the top rated tablet. Very sad programing, please update I know you can afford it after overcharging us so much.

This is a fantastic launcher replacement application. It has a lot of options and support for themes and skins, but I can't seem to access that earth thing that is shown in the screenshot. I was also very surprised that my phone still runs smooth, and it also has it's own battery monitor. Considering I have an older Samsung Galaxy S. However £9.45 for something like this is way too steep. I understand that the developers need to make money, but this application is worth more around the £5 mark.

Money well spent on this app. It redefines the way you see your Android device, it makes it awesome. I like the way folders are implemented (extendable or classic) and mostly the fact that you may re-arrange the icons within a folder. The build in widgets are also gorgeous and very functional. Easy to change from one screen to another. No obvious limit in terms of how many screens one may have. On the drawer the icons get an extra mark to symbolize if they are already added to one of your screens.Hat down !

This is, I think, worth the cash. My only preference would be to add a 'transparent' theme to be applied to some widgets and the ability to customise icons on the home screens. Other than that, and the annoying extended loading time on the SE X10i every time you press the home key, it really is quite a cool launcher. A couple of tweeks here and there and you're onto a winner. This is worth a look.

I really love this app running on my EVO 3D. Its a bit costy however, but worth the one time investment. I've used Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, HOME, and GDE. This is one of the best laucher app I've ever used. I really like the widgets and my phone look really cool. It runs fearly well without any hickups. Overall I would recommend it to a friend, but they wont pay the price tag for it. Great job to the Dev team. Would have given a 5 stars if the price was better.

Google reporting it as compatible but this app simply dosent work on the galaxy tab with gingerbread. It first of all wouldnt run so i uninstalled it (and got refunded) and tried again, this time it locked me in, not happy and a pure waste of money. Im hoping that the devs will fix this asap so i can actually try it out. Force close after force close, even when the app isnt suppose to be running i keep getting forced closed - im sticking the excellent WORKING ADW for now.

The 3D is beautiful, the ability to manage panels and folders very well implemented but there's a lot missing that is available on the many free launchers available. To be truly worth the hefty price tag, at a minimum I would expect scrollable widgets, customisable dock and resizeable widgets.

I was saddened to see my beloved EVO bequeathed to my children to fulfill their gaming desires but I just had to get my hands on the Galaxy S II (aka Epic 4G Touch) on launch day. I began to miss Sense, believe it or not, but not anymore. SPB Shell 3D absolutely rocks... the animations, flexibility, graphics - all first rate! Absolutely no buyer's remorse from this semi-geek (full-on geek, if you ask the wife); well worth the purchase price.

The developers don't listen to feedback...still no scrollable widgets, no ability to change the grid size. This was my favorite launcher, then I tried Launcher Pro just for the scrollable widgets to work, and I kept reading about Go Launcher being better and had to try it. Way more options. Nice screen transitions, I use random. Uses less RAM. I'm very disappointed that SPB has not done anything to remain competitive. I keep it on my phone hoping one day they will try.

Nice app but it completely locked up my phone (Nexus S) to where I had to battery pull to reboot. Too much $ to have to mess with things like that so uninstall/refund. Maybe as time goes on this will be fixed and I would try again. Its a shame because I was liking what little I got to play with it but could not let the refund time run out.

There is no customizable Dock, worthless Picture Widget (can't add your own pics?!), no Facebook Widget, no Grid size customization, no editing Icons, no Home Screen animations, no scrollable Notification Widgets, no Lockscreen Widgets, can't add Eastern cities to Weather Widget (like Jerusalem)... IT"S USELESS! It has ONE feature (3D preview), but Regina has 3D and is FREE!

It runs nice and smooth at my Samsung GT-I9000b, but some widgets could get reduced versions, like the time and weather, instead of consuming a entire page they could get slimmer and open space to some shortcuts (or a folder line). And it should have a trial version, because the price is a bit high to recommend the software without lending my cellphone to show it.

Great app, it even beats ADW. Could just use some customisation. Look at the videos, it really is as smooth as that, even on somewhat older hardware. By the way, all the retards who say it's like an iphone, I'll have some of what you're smoking. This OVERPRICED widget has little to offer in customization compared to GO Launcher, ADW, or Pro Launcher (and GO Launcher is FREE!). There is no customizable Dock, worthless Picture Widget (can't add your own pics?!), no Facebook Widget, no Grid size customization, no editing Icons, no Home Screen animations, no scrollable Notification Widgets, no Lockscreen Widgets, can't add Eastern cities to Weather Widget (like Jerusalem)... The developers don't listen to feedback...still no scrollable widgets, no ability to change the grid size. This was my favorite launcher, then I tried Launcher Pro just for the scrollable widgets to work, and I kept reading about Go Launcher being better and had to try it. Way more options. Nice screen transitions, I use random. Uses less RAM. I'm very disappointed that SPB has not done anything to remain competitive. I keep it on my phone hoping one day they will try.

SUPERB Launcher on CM7 I have this running on CM7 7.0.3 on a Nook Color with 2 other Launchers - LauncherPro & ADW Launcher that is pre-installed in CyanogenMOD, all running smoothly with HomeControl. Re-sizable folders, a Bookmarks folder & a personal Flickr feed, rather than pictures from Flickr pics that are of no relevance to me. Other than that, beautiful eyecandy, great for showing off capabilities of Android, CM7 & Nook Color, very functional, very handy. Love it.

Great Launcher - Samsung Galaxy S2 The launcher is GREAT. Launcher runs real fast on my Samsung Galaxy S2. Customization is pretty limited for features like 3D SMS - shows SMS only for last 2 days NOT earlier. If you can do an Email App the same way as SMS App with high Customisation level that would be a killer addition. Thanks to all developers at SPB Software for this GREAT LAUNCHER. Looks good, runs smoothly on Droid X I've only been using SPB Shell 3D for about 24 hours, but I'm fairly impressed thus far. It looks great, and (more importantly) runs smoothly. Doesn't seem to be negatively affecting battery life. My only real complaint thus far is lack of Facebook integration. I'd like to see SPB Shell pull contact info (pictures, etc.) from Facebook.

Needs some obvious additions. Pretty smooth and slick eye candy. Needs adjustable grid sizes on rows/colums, widget resizing, and some other tweaks. The apps in the drawer cannot be loaded while it's scrolling, this is a major annoyance. You must wait for the scrolling to stop before clicking an app.
