There are many who say that Google’s grip on Android is not tight enough. ShopSavvy, looking into further development of their Android app, recently threw out some interesting figures that we felt compelled to share.. Around since G1 launch, ShopSavvy can be found on at least 142 identified Android devices today with the Droid being the most popular. Further, the Big in Japan team found that not only are there oodles of Android phones and tablets running their app, but there are nearly 250 firmware conditions as well. ShopSavvy the developer of a barcode scanning & shopping app by the same name, has confirmed instances of its Android app running on Blackberry devices. ShopSavvy app is available only to Android and iOS users as of now, while its logs (as seen by the developer) confirmed that it’s been running on "various Blackberry devices" at three different instances - – on a BlackBerry 8300 on Jan. 31st, BlackBerry 8600 on Jan. 17th and 24th, BlackBerry 8520 on Feb. 7th, all in this year. This app is amazing and cures boredom. It works on all products except ones from Save-a-Lot. Their mustard showed up as a backpack, soda was a hat, and another food came up as a knife. I think scanning S-A-L labels are hilarious to see what comes up, and makes me love this app more.

i have saved SO much money with this app. price matching at frys alone is worth it. the shopping list saving is awesomeness, and the real time tracking of other peoples purchases help you see what you might want.... just out of the blue. only thing lacking is geological units nearby. that would be WONDERFUL for power shopping during sales and with multiple people shopping at the same time. keeping track of what you already got and notify the other people who you are shopping with. that would be a great!

Awful. Have to hold the phone over the barcode for ages before it actually scanned - if it scanned at all. Most of the items I manage to scan in didn't show up, & if they did then the item would flash up on screen (part of the screen anyway - the layout is very squished) for a second before disappearing & giving me an error message because "Input string was not in a correct format" apparently.

I have had this app for about 6 months now. I am not sure why, but I have only used it a few times. the first time was in Nordstroms, I saved $100 off a jacket because Macy's was selling the same coat for that much less (in the same mall). I then saved about $75 off a box radio in Best Buy because they matched the price of another store (that was no where nearby and I had never heard of). This is the best FREE APP EVER!!!

I tried all the others and this is the fastest most accurate of all the barcode scanners. While others took a long time to scan this 1 is nearly instantaneous and has a much larger database. All it lacks is price match from Amazon which I wish it would add.

This is a great App that will determine the future of almost all non food purchases. The app seems to be a bit reluctant to read bar codes without using the cameras flashlight. I have found the eBay barcode reader to be much much better. Needs a little work to be a serious tool rather than a gimmick.

Scanning us fast & easy but after that the info is dumb & generally helpless. It scans the milk then wants me to add stores? I'm in an area with tons of stores. One milk wanted to give me a Target 40 mi away. I'd pass several Targets on my way there, and 20 grocery stores.

That's it. A barcode scanner. I don't need to share "awesome pics" with my friends, or tell people on Facebook what I bought, or wash clothes, or do dishes, or make coffee, or any of the other stupid ideas they're probably dreaming up right now. Just make it scan barcodes. Leave all the other stuff out. If I really want someone to see a picture of the barcode I'm scanning... No, wait. That will never happen.

Developers NEVER Respond Crap App I have been waiting for over a YEAR to have the simple feature they promissed to allow Android Users to Export your saved lists and you still can't to this day. We will have by Christmas 2010 they said over and over again. Well guys it almost Christmas 2011 so where is the simple upgrade to export your saved list of items?? Just as I thought, Don't want to get back to us huh. Free or not you shouldn't tell people your adding a NEEDED feature that should have been in the build to begin with.

Disappointing - Not recommended for local finding I scanned a national brand of coffee and it came back with 7 online results. Nothing local. Figuring decaf wasn't so popular, I scanned a box of Band Aids. Again, only online results. A scan of Deer Park water yielded some local results. Yay, you would think! Far away!!: 94 miles, 48.5 miles (Shop Rite), 69.7 miles (WalMart), and 5.4 miles (BJ's Wholesale Club). I live in a Philly suburb!! More often I'm trying to FIND a product locally. The finding is often more important than price in many cases.
