A few months ago we caught wind of the iPhone style "bump" pay method coming to Android, and today it's officially been released. Along with the bump payment, where users can bump devices to transfer the money, the application also includes a new feature called "split the bill." This feature allows users who may be out to dinner with a group of friends or coworkers to calculate everyone's portion of the bill, including tax and tip, and request the money from them right through the application. iPhone owners have the distinct pleasure of settling debts via PayPal on their phones, simply by “bumping” their phones together. This has a massive flaw. The balance it says I can withdraw is not correct. It says I am able to withdraw a certain amount but them it will not let me. Checking on the full Web site, this balance is being held in reserve. Surely this needs to be fixed. Useless for me.

I would love to give 5 str but the app is missing so many features. For starters, I had to log in with my old # in order to access my account. An option to enable an user to change personal information would be good, but I believe is essential. And the fact that users don't have a way to transfer $ is very inconvenient.

Check capture is finally working!! It was down for weeks and most of the support people were either not kept informed of the issues or were possibly told not to give any info besides that they were working on it. One gentleman was unaware that it was available for Android, another lady thought it had already been solved. Also, it's good that I am honest... I logged in and the app was showing someone else's account in german with funds listed in euros. It makes me wonder who might on occasion see mine.

The Check Capture feature of the app worked beautifully up until about a month ago. Once it stopped working, I contacted PayPal who said they were aware of the problem. Will it be fixed? Who knows? But it makes that part of the app completely useless.

It gives you very little information there is no way to look things up. And only shows a very few transactions and you can't get any information for Ebay stuff as far as the buyers address it what they bought or anything.

Easy to navigate, but have the frequent issue of it not recognizing and correctly processing transactions. The app has frequent communication errors and closes abruptly. I have tried reinstalling and still have issues. Some more bug fixes and updates are in order.

I've used PayPal for years but now they are holding payments for a bunch of ambiguous reasons! This practice is unfair as I have been a stand-up customer. Before making such heinous decision, they should really evaluate the case based on what is happening with that individual, not just what appears on a screen!

It shows me all my balance information properly as well as the buyers info, but only one line of the transaction detail! This must be an Android limitation because it works fine on my wife's iPad. I have an Acer A500 tablet and a Samsung Droid Charge phone and I only get one line of transaction detail on both devices.

This app gives the user basic access to paypal account features and does a decent job it. However, the whole reason I downloaded it was to use the check-deposit feature, where you photograph both sides of the check and the app deposits it in your account. The feature worked great... twice. Then I started receiving errors and couldn't get it to work. I contacted paypal, and their response was: "If you had an error depositing any other ones you will need to deposit it at your banking institution. Once you receive an error you will not be able to deposit it with your phone." This response annoyed me enough to make me want to write this review. They didn't even bother to tell me that they know about the problem and were trying to fix it. They were just like... yup, it's broken. Go to the bank. That's what I should have done in the first place.

This app used to work properly but now that it's prompting for the security key after the password it won't work. I suspect there is a character limit to the password. One thing lacking about this app is the ability to landscape your screen, so to make it even smarter by the basis of what orientation of your screen is, you are forced to rotate your screen so it would appeared as portrait mode. That's not smart. One thing that should be done into this app is having the ability to go landscape mode to handle information better by making use of the screen better.

Request money feature does not have an option to request shipping address from customer (makes you look unprofessional when you have to go back and ask for it separately). You don't receive a copy of the money request to your email and if a you log in with your computer you won't find a copy of the request in PayPal either. You will only find the request on your phone app and this is inconvenient to track if someone has paid you or not (a problem for busy sellers). Use website, more professional but slow

While on Tor network (Orbot, privacy protection app), I used Paypal app, so they saw I signed in from different country IPs. Account was locked. Called in personally & clarified issue. After the call they closed my 10-years old account without explanation. They first sold the idea that they give you privacy, convenience and security, but nowadays they want your data for marketing, don't care about your convenience, and just worry about their own security. Like eBay, Paypal is an relic from the past, they should stay away from the modern web.

Obviously a very poorly and hastily made app. I can't even log in on my Thrive, but if I could I understand there are a great number of enormous bugs to contend with. We deserve far better from such a large and wealthy company, especially one that charges such outlandish fees. I was able to add checks just fine until I upgraded to Android 2.3 now on my Droid X it will not save the photos that I scan for my checks. Gives me an error and never works to add to a check. Overall, pretty good. Transfers work nicely, but the check deposit doesn't work for me - I get an error about low memory. I do have a Droid 0G, but the app should allow me to take pictures of the check outside the app and then select them inside the app rather than having to use the camera while the app is open. This will get 5 stars once the check deposit to works.

Had this problem with my original Droid, and thought it was a memory issue. I've upgraded to a Droid 3, have a memory optimizer and a boatload of free memory and so far, I've only been able to deposit one check, after 6 attempts. What gives???? The check feature would be great, if it worked.

Works just fine. :D To the people who complain: Get a better/newer phone. Samsungs and LGs seem to almost always be complained about. Get a Sony Ericsson, Motorola or HTC, they know how to make quality phones. Works better than their website: When I tap on add funds it opens another link instead, whereas this app doesn't. Obviously a very poorly and hastily made app. I can't even log in on my Thrive, but if I could I understand there are a great number of enormous bugs to contend with. We deserve far better from such a large and wealthy company, especially one that charges such outlandish fees.
