Mint.com, the financial service we first mentioned at TechCrunch40 in 2007 (wow, that seems like a long time ago), announced that they have launched a new native app specifically for 9 and 10 inch Android tablets running Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich. This new app, available in the Android Market, will join the previously available versions for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile phones. Curiously, there is no mobile web version (that I have been able to find). 7 inch tablets should work, but this new app is not specifically optimized for them. No word as of yet, when this new version will be available for the very popular Kindle Fire since there is already a version of Mint in the Amazon app store. It allows you to easily track, budget and manage your money; and with a mobile app, you can do all that from your smartphone while on the go. Mint’s Android application has been recently updated with some security enhancements and few new features. For instance, now you can add transactions from your device, as well as view your available and current balances for each of your accounts. I’ve been using it for a few days on my Google Nexus One. I love this app. Unlike most other bill & budget apps, Mint truly allows you to build a budget and allow you to track multiple bank and credit card accounts from one place. Love that you can categorize your purchases and payments and income. Credit card bill reminder is a life saver when you run a busy schedule. Only downside is even if you try to delete an account from the app, you can't. You actually have to go to the website to delete an account.

I love mint, but this app is virtually worthless. Since you can't use the site at all on mobile, its nice to have a simple app that at least has summary info... but THE BUDGET DATA IS WRONG. The bar on my phone shows my total budget for the month is under, on the website and ipad it is clearly $400 OVER. I understand not having all the featutes of the main site, but wrong budget information makes this app practially worthless.

This app is so awesome its the only one I've actually taken the time to review. Even after using it for two weeks its already helped me. The ability to add multiple online accounts is outstanding. And even if they don't have a certain bank you bank with, you can goto the website and put in a request. Also the website has even more excellent features. I believe with budgeting money, everybody always has areas they can improve in, and this helps find those.

I have used this app on both my phone and desktop. I am discontinuing use due to the same thing others are saying. On several occasions the posts to key accounts from different banks are frequently duplicated. I have contacted their customer service and they have neglected to fix the issue. Apparently their server and processing maintenance is not as important as coding a shiny new tablet UI. That I would suspect after a short time would also show this same issue as it is in the core of their service that it does not work.

I really wish it had 2 improvements...i can't see the uncategorized/other transactions when I look at the budget window, I can only see what these are and change the category online...the other thing is that I manage multiple budgets...a personal and joint one (two separate registered emails since I can't do this under one account online either), but can only have one active on a widget at a time...would be nice to be ableto have 2 widgets active one for each account. Other than that love it!

I first used this a.couple of years ago, before intuit bought it and quit thinking it was going to become some useless advertisement for Turbo Tax. I just started using it again and was very surprised to see that it has, for the most part, stayed the same. Actually, since Intuit took over, I have had far fewer errors when loading my updates and it is much easier to add accounts too. With this app, you are able to allow multiple email addresses on the account alerts.

The program & idea is great. You really need to use this on a pc, then just look on the android. It takes almost a week for my droid to get transactions downloaded, and about 3 days for my Kindle Fire to update. There is not nearly the capability on my mobile devices as there is on my pc. It also has problems adding accounts and you can't really set up budgets well on droid x/ kindle fire. Register & set it up on your pc, then monitor it on the mobile. Just keep in mind that your data/ balances are old.

I use this app a few times a weekl to check my accounts, including my mortgage and credit card debt. it is PW protected with a 4 digit pin# so it's safe. You have to set the pin number up yourself, it''s not default. If someone were to take your phone, and hack your pin (unlikely) they could NOT access any account numbers or spend any of your money. They could only see how and where you spent your money and how much you owed! There is NO personal info (name, account numbers, etc.) store on your device and it updates every time you select the app. There is a ZERO (0) chance of ID theft from using this app (IMHO). You can also choose to LOG OUT of the app when you close -for the ultra paranoid o.0

It's nice and all, but I really wanted this app to give me a little widget that told me how much money I had in my accounts. That's basically the best/only use of such access on one's phone. The mint app widget looks like it should do this perfectly, but it doesn't update. If the widget would just update itself every day or so, it would give me a great at-a-glance measure of my accounts. Instead, it's no better than loading the page on my desktop - something I have to do consciously rather than just having it in my face.

I love this app! I have accounts at different banks so I use this app often, it's easier then logging into each banks website. The only thing I wish was more accurate was pending transactions. For instance, I still have a purchase pending that cleared weeks ago. Mint shows it's still pending but my bank says it's not. Highly recommend setting up your account online at first so you can sort transactions into correct categories, that way the transaction will automatically go into the same category next time.

Everything seems organized & app seems easy to use but I'm not sure how to change the budgets on my Samsung Galaxy S....how can my food/groceries be set @ $40/month but resturants can be set @ 5 or 6 times higher? I would like to be able to change my budget around & customize it to my family.

Recent UI update made mint useless for my galaxy nexus running AOKP. FC when LCD is set at 260. and no longer provides a quick one look overview when I'm on the go with my phone. settings also don't work? I don't need full fancy UI features when I'm in the go, just good overlook at a glance, the tablet UI is too squeezes too much in to small an area on my phone. However the tablet UI is great... On my touchpad tablet running AOKP, but that's when I want to spend time in the app to look at my spending.

Very useful for my simple needs. All I need is a place that tally up my spendings. Since it is hard to see what they are on my back account Web site. Very sleek. Has lots of options to change spending categories. note to people, for galaxy 10.1 to change budget the the budget tab is at the right top of screen.

Perfect app if you are looking to control all your expenses, maybe a little bit more on personalization from our side, for example any option to select some monthly transactions stay out on your regular expenses, like you mortgage if you rent your house, if the rent pays te mortgage you don`t need it in your expenses

I've had nothing but problems. Duplicate accounts, communication/bank connection errors, and poor support. They don't fix the problem, but mark/say it is. Or they'll do the wrong thing (i.e. delete the wrong duplicate account, etc.). Pure incompetence.

This app could really be amazing if were just a little more user friendly. I would like to be able to adjust the budgets and have a little more control. The accounts often have a difficult time logging in. Come on intuit we know you are better than this. If anyone could have an amazing app we know it is you. Let's see your reputation at work.

Do I really need to be able to check my bank account balance on my Android? Not really. What I really want to be able to do is keep my finances up to date by adding cash transactions as I make them (so I don't have to remember).

Its not perfect. Perfect would be if you could set it to keep track of but exclude from grand total seperate accounts. Also for budgeting allow you to put in transfers or ATM withdrawels. Also beware the grand total, it lies and doesn't point out that if your bank shows an item as pending, it counts it as money in the account.... Your bank won't and I doubt quicken will help you pay the overdraft..... Will they?

Been using mint for over a year and am very pleased with the service. The app for Android is pretty good, however I would really like to see more options (pie charts, historical cash flow, etc) that are available on Apple apps and/or only on the website. It is still extremely useful and makes this nerd/accountant very happy.

I am on the samsung replenish and when I try to add an expense via the + button in the bottom right, I am unable to view all the options in the "expense type" sub-category. I really like this feature and would like to be able to use it, but am unable to scroll down to see other checkable boxes so I am hesistant to use this feature.

One of my favorite features of this app was being able to quickly pull up recent transactions via the live folder. Since live folders are no longer supported in ice cream sandwich, I have lost this functionality. The widget is very limited in functionality. If you can add this functionality into another widget I can change my rating.

I loved mint when it came out but they have been deleting support for some of my accounts (banana republic card) and have never implemented others (mini financial) after repeatedly saying they would. The app is pretty well done. Takes a bit to update.

I really do love this app. The automatic charge alert for credit cards literally caught a company charging small amounts each month without my knowledge. That alone saved me hundreds of dollars. Only thing I wish they would change is the flexibility of setting goals. You have to log in from a computer or get online to set up and change goals. But all in all, a fantastic free app!

Really, Mint/Intuit? You wait what seems like forever to release an update and the main thing you add is the ability for users to directly dial your "financial partners?" Way to go in listening to your user base. How about something actually useful for a majority of people, like, oh, say, the ability to enter cash transactions in the mobile app? This would make the app truly useful.

The app does NOT come from a "complete stranger". Intuit is a very trustworthy company, whose products have been used by large corporations, as well as individuals, for over 25 years.

Would not research how an app could even consider asking for your bank account. Put the phone down, go to your laptop and read about mint. It gives you a snapshot like no other. I highly recommend setting up on a more efficient platform other than pads or phones.

I concur with decker2k04. The app is fair, Mint is what needs a major revamp. This was a great website, but things dropped dramatically (Intuit's fault? - who knows?). I really really wanted this to work. The interface was nice, it tried to give good information. But like was said, they just didn't evolve. Bugs go unchecked. Duplicate transaction totally ruin it for budgeting and accuracy. If you change investments, you're in a world of hurt. I actually came here looking for a Quicken product, but only fount Mint....sad. I hope a reputable company comes up with something.

Honestly, I use the web site on my tablet rather than using this app. It feels bare bones to me and I'd really like to see them make it nicer to use. Their website is sweet, but this app seems like something they had to support but weren't really interested in going the distance. Being able to set a pin is something I wish all apps did do. Mint was good, but they refuse to evolve and their customer support has gone downhill. Good luck updating you mutual fund accounts with new security features, as you'll be calling them frequently to unsuspend your accounts because of Mint's refusal to adapt. And when you tell them of their issue, it's all your fault! Sorry, folks - Intuit botched what once once a good app. Wish someone else would step up to the plate and bring in an app that is like Mint with customer support!

I now can review history and charting is available. Looks visually nice on my Xoom. The updating of accounts seems to be working much better than in previous versions. You use to have an easy way to look at the transaction by category or payee in high to low dollars. You can see some of it thru the graphs or charts, but not the same as seeing the numbers.

The new update for Mint makes this app infinitely better for the tablet user. Information is significantly better displayed and the most relevent info is displayed right on the front page. The only things I found odd was that finding individual transactions was a little confusing and random letters were bolded in the pie chart view. Neither of those little quirks put a damper on the experience and could probably be fixed in an update.

Tablet revamp is nice. However, available cash does notnshow on the tablet version. This shows up on the desktop site and phone form factor app. If you are not going to support every card out there you need to support manual accounts.

For most, if not all banks (at least in Canada), by sharing your banking password you are violating their terms of service which means if there is fraudulent activity on your account, you alone are liable and the bank will not have to reimburse you. Banks will need to allow for creation of read-only permissions for services like this to be safe. I am amazed that anyone even uses this!

I'm noticing that this program budgets based on leftover money after housing,utilities,etc. The government greedily calls this, "disposable". The actual budget seems to vary based on your overall spending habits. While I really like this program for all it's features, I reserve 5 stars till a user defined budget is added.

It's looking better on tablets now but not functional enough to be useful. Could view current month budget but need to view last and be able to edit budgets accordingly. Only advantage of having the "app" over using the web browser version on the tablet is that it is designed for a touch interface. I would rather see a webapp version designed for both mouse and touch.

This is an excellent upgrade for the tablet. Not only is the layout a lot better, but it seems to refresh more reliably (maybe that's just me). It's missing some features that I would really like to see: editing budgets, and more flexible reporting. For example, you can click a budget category to get a list of matching transactions for the current month, but from that screen you can't switch to change the category (although you can change the date range). Also, you can't switch from this month's budget view to last month's. On the whole, a great upgrade. Looking forward to more functionality in future updates.

It has a tendency to double entries which destroys the budget features usefulness. I have no idea how it reconsiles the account balance accuracy with double payments that never left the account. Outside of this odd issue its program. I can't truly fault the app since its doing the same on the website. It's still nice to be able to check my balance quickly against my register.

Great system, still has a few bugs I love Mint.com. What I can't do on my mobile app, I can do on the web interface. A lot of what other users complain of can be fixed if you use the web, too. Just using the app alone isn't enough, but it is a great snapshot of your financial picture. My only complaint is that it doesn't ever seem to update my accounts on the phone until I log on to the webpage. I can't figure out how to make it update. They say they've fixed it, but they haven't. If this one issue were fixed, I'd give it 5 stars!

I use my credit card like cash for its many cash back benefits. I pay off the balance every month to avoid interest fees. With Mint, I am able to see my net worth (cash minus credit debt) and this helps me from overspending because of my high credit limit. The app needs more features like trends but otherwise, it's a solid app. Also, the site itself has a lot of problems with updating accounts but is the only one that supports my credit union so I guess this is as good as it gets for me.

I'd give this app a 5+ if I was able to check/see my bills and goals from the App. Mind u I have only been using this app 4 a few hours but can only see my Accounts (Cash/Credit) Budget and Alerts from my phone. Can't see a calendar of any sort for my upcoming bills or the bills themselves. Pageonce is better for this as I like to have a 'visual' reminder of my bills and when in the month they're due. It allows me to 'play around with my cash' better. Please have something like this and is 5 stars for sure!

I totally love this app. I was able to put all my assets and liability, accounts, and just about all my investments. The program track my budget, spendings, and suggested better ways to utilize my money. I love it. Great program and great job to the developers. I love the alerts via text and email you get when you're approaching your bills, and if you're over budget. The only hangup I have it takes long to update. The web version is much quicker to update.

This is a great app. Easy to use, very clean and cool UI...there is only one problem, as I see it, the new ability to enter transactions on the go is great BUT the user ends up with DUPLICATE transactions which screws up your available balances and if you are (like me) looking at your available balance all the time...you might end up over spending. I guess my recommendation would be not to use it as a Checkbook ledger replacement.

The app itself works great. No complaints at all about the actual app. The widget on the other hand is completely useless. After a reboot the widget loses data and the theme reverts to white every time. Widget will not display any data until a full refresh of all accounts is complete. Even if the widget did work correctly, showing total cash vs credit card debt is useless for most people. It should allow you to choose exactly what data is shown.

Couldn't get past the first step of adding my bank. Kept saying my bank needed more information and gave me a fix it link that just had me log into my bank to try and figure out for myself what the hell was going on. Googled it and the issue has been around for AT LEAST 10 months, that was the oldest date I noticed of countless forum posts complaining about this issue. Talked to a bunch of people that used it and researched it a lot to make sure it was secure and then this. A total let down.

I can't login to the app on my droid2. It worked fine for a whole year now all of the sudden nothing. I get the message "There was an error logging in. Please Check your username and password", however the same credentials work in standard web browsers.

It's ok... Honestly, I use the web site on my tablet rather than using this app. It feels bare bones to me and I'd really like to see them make it nicer to use. Their website is sweet, but this app seems like something they had to support but weren't really interested in going the distance. Being able to set a pin is something I wish all apps did do. Update maybe slow-service has to fetch data from ALL your bank accounts! If unable to update-your bank requires you to provide credentials 4 security!
