Doesn't currently work on the latest CM7, but it's unfair to give it poor ratings because of a non-standard ROM. Anxiously waiting for an update.

On Cyanogen 7.1 stable this is broken. Their permission control doesn't measure up to this app as this app doesn't cause force closes when rejecting permissions.
Excellent security & privacy app. Now other apps can't access my info unless I give them permission.

Why do YOU (LBE) need this "private" information?? Thought that you where for privacy, but you're asking youself for our private information??? Your personal information: read sensitive log data Allows an application to read from the system's various log files. This allows it to discover general information about what you are doing with the device, potentially including personal or private information.

Truly must have, as mentioned multiple times already, but sadly doesn't work with Cyanogenmod 7.1. The service won't start. Fix this and you'll get the full five stars. ;)

Definitely one of the best reasons to even bother rooting your phone in the first place. The ability to do what you can with this should be standard as part of Android. Why the heck does a Flashlight app, with no special permissions, still need access to my phone identity? Between this and Autostarts, I feel like I've got full control over my phone now.

Was recommended this app, tried to run it on my rooted Nexus S running CM7.1 Stable Release and just get the message advising to contact the Dev because the service can not start. 4 Stars because friends swear by this app but sadly not supported on my device and unable to contact the dev's. If it will run on your handset i'm sure you will love it.

Doesn't work for my rooted HTC Desire with GingerVillain 3.3 (CM7.1). Keeps saying the services could not be started. Even after a reboot. Too bad since the app sounds very promising!

[G1-root'd user] I never knew how much Facebook wanted from me. I didn't look at the permissions and I saw that its wants to read my call logs,send sms and access sms and mms messages. Why would they need to know all that. DENIED! I allowed the other stuff like contacts since I don't have much to hide of my friends and family. I used Places so, I allowed GPS. Nice app for root'd users.

Doesnt seem to catch additional permissions from app upgrades. App upgrade gave an app permission to place calls. LBE doesnt see this.

Love this app - does an excellent job of helping me prevent unnecessary access. It has stopped working with the latest nightly of Cyanogenmod for DroidX (Full-97; 9/20/11), though. Hopefully the developer and/or Cyanogen get the kinks worked out ASAP!

Facebook, Weather Channel, Pandora-- Just a few examples of programs that request permissions that they absolutely do not need. And those are from "reputable" companies. This program solves that problem as well as can possibly be expected, adding a feature that Google should already have put into Android. Does your chess program request the ability to record audio and send SMS messages? Denied. (Remember to SAVE changes by hitting the BACK button before testing to see if it worked!)

Have been using this app for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. The app's well integrated into the system and can be completely forgotten about most of the time until you install a new application. I've recently had a few force closes and it would be nice if I could set it to restart itself although this may be technically unfeasible.

LBE blocks my web browser all of a sudden! I marked it as trusted and it still fails until I disable LBE! No response from the devs. Ugh!

This app does a great job of finally allowing me to control what information is being accessed. For example, there is no reason a weather app needs permission for your contacts or a newsreader needs to know your location. This app works very well on a stock rooted HTC EVO 4G without any problems.
