Mount your device and iOnRoad will use the cam, GPS and sensors paired with its advanced RoadAware™ algorithm to recognize traffic ahead and warn of potential collisions. When danger is detected, iOnRoad warns you with audio and visual alerts, even when running in the background!
HEADWAY MONITORING & ALERTS

iOnRoad Augmented Driving for Android ensures you aren't getting too close to the cars in front and encourages you to collect points to compete against other drivers. It's free to download. A new in-car app for Android phones could help you avoid accidents by monitoring your distance from the cars in front and estimating your required stopping time if the unfortunate should happen. The free iOnRoad (eye-on-road, geddit?) Augmented Driving app for Android, mounted on your dashboard, uses the phone's camera and GPS sensor as well as an "advanced RoadAware algorithm" to pick up traffic in your field of vision. The app will provide a colour coded guide to keeping a safe distance. If the gap between the cars flashes green then you're ok, yellow means you should probably consider backing off a bit, while red means in the event of having to stop fast you're absolutely screwed. A company called Picitup launched a cool Android app called iOnRoad, touting it as “too smart to run on the iPhone.” That’s a bold statement, but it’s justified with the fact that iPhone’s multi-tasking capabilities are pretty limited to what Android is offering. The application relies on the smartphone’s camera and sensors to detect vehicles in front of the vehicle, alerting drivers when they are in danger — iPhone can handle that part alone. The problem is when you run iOnRoad in the background, when for instance you also use a navigation application – that’s something that will turn off iOnRoad on the iPhone. I like!
Really keeps me safe on the road! I start iOnRoad every time I drive, and it really saved me from some really close calls! The best safety part is, because my phone is mounted on the windshield and iOnRoad narrates the messages, I do less texting while driving!
