Why HDR
------------
Real life scenes often have a wide range of light intensity, which cannot be captured by a camera. In a photo of such a scene the bright areas look washed out and everything in shadows is pictured as a black spot with no details. The HDR technique allows you to capture details in bright and dark areas and have them merged in a single photo.
HDR photography is widely adopted by professional photographers. Wouldn't it be nice to have an HDR in mobile phones?
The problem is that HDR requires taking several differently exposed images in series, which must be precisely aligned and then fused. In order to be usable for real life scenes, the HDR feature should include moving object detection and hand shake compensation to avoid or minimize the ghosting in the final image. That requires a lot of computational resources and makes a challenge even for professional desktop HDR software.
Almalence has brought its expertise in professional HDR software to mobile phones. Our HDR fusion algorithms compensate hand shaking and detect moving objects in the scene, suppressing ghosting artifacts. At the same time, the algorithms are quick enough to provide comfortable processing time on mobile devices.

HDR is all the rage these days. Doing whatever it takes to get the true intensity of colors in a photo makes a lot of sense, as it can really add to the drama and beauty of photos you've taken. You can do this on a computer, and you can also do it on your phone. HDR Camera+ takes a series of pictures in rapid succession (five or so), fuses them together, and then increases the range of colors in one single, high- resolution picture. There's a built-in image stabilizer, so you don't need to try and keep your hand unflinchingly steady while all of the pictures are taken. In fact, the only time I saw a blurry picture was when I dramatically swung the camera around after I'd started the process, which speaks volumes about how strong the stabilization and merging processes are. And as always, lighting will play a key

Stan
ALways improving! :) I look forward to more fixes and features, keep up the great work! Tip: Update your logo and you'll get more DL's too.
Don
Great Photos from my Bionic Hi, I was having a lot of trouble getting decent shots from the Bionic especially in tricky lighting. HDR+ has fixed those issues. Now I can get great shots of people and objects in all lighting conditions - indoors, outdoors, back lighting, harsh sun, dark night and .... This app has really delivered for me. It is slow and still makes the shutter noise, but those issues might be more from the Bionic than HDR. I hope the Bionic update improves HRD even further.
Jim
Sweet Nice. locking up on Galaxy Note under certain settings. Other than that, great!
Doug
Love it! Does what it says very well. My X2 takes much better photos with this app.
Ian
Fantastic App. As a Keen photographer with both a NIKON SLR and Micro 4/3 systems, I have only started using my Phone's camera because of HDR camera+.
Decent HDR Nice, but lacking features. No manual prefocus and forced autosave. Can't set WB, and no composition guides (essential for shooting 3 stills).
Teddy Puleva
Not working ok on Galaxy tab When I start the app, the direction of the camera is in the opposite direction. So, is very hard to take a pic. Also, it takes lots of time until it saves the pic. The free app that comes with the tab is better.
Adam
Outstanding pictures. Its like I have a $1000 camera
Michael
Tassel Outstanding quality shots on my Galaxy S2! A must buy, plain and simple.
theTingster
Droid Bionic Still cannot mute camera shutter sound. Other than that, this is a great app.

Solitaire
Best Looking Pictures Shutter may not mute on Atrix 2 (also), but it takes some of the best pictures I've ever seen. Works best if subject is perfectly still.
Pieter
Very loud
Rob
Amazed!!! This app is STUNNING! Breathtaking photos on my Droid x2!!! One of the best apps I've ever seen!! Thanks!
Lorda
Broken... Latest update freezes the app When i try to take a pic on galaxy s2 the app freezes, and makes my camera fail & i have to reboot. Android 2.3.5
Abhishek Sharma
Good I like it.gonna use this for a while instead of normal camera app.
Jared
Good for nice pics, great detail not seen in regular camera app. Works but not at full 8MP. HTC sensation.
Sridhar
Deleting the pictrue will force close the application Try taking few pictures and start deleting the same. After one or two deletions the application is closed forcefully.
servando
Absolutey phenomenal on HTC EVO!
Sekui or Sally
Hdr is better. Its great i have to use his app alot. It will fit to landcrasps and nice places, but-- u can figer out urself.
Tony
Best Galaxy 2 App I have never taken a photo this good with any phone, ever!
Nick
Use it every day. Great for work related pictures due to lighting conditions etc. Highly recommended!
Kong
Won't let me see my pictures I've taken. The last couple if updates really screwed the app up. Please undo them so I can see my pictures again. Also, fix the freezes. - Thunderbolt.
James Paul
Love.
JBirch
Great app, somewhat less than optimal workflow Works as advertised. Not having an inline viewer makes reviewing/retakes awkward though.
John
Really cool pictures with great colors and tones HTC EVO 4G
Nate
Great app! Pics look amazing and seems to work well on my dinc. 5 stars if I could adjust resolution.
John
STILL no working gallery view, HTC Desire HD. Also, SAVE TO PHONE saves to card whilst SAVE TO CARD seems to hide image! Takes good pics though.
SlappyMcAssSmack
It ALWAYS shoot waaaaay out of focus consistently. Serves no purpose other than UFO & Bigfoot pics.
ryanne
Amazing app, but 2 suggestions: Please allow (1) use of front camera and (2) option to choose my preferred photo gallery app (this was possible before the recent update)! Thanks!!!! :)
Paul
Error Error saving image after update. Motorola Defy
Bob
Sweet app Image saving restored for my mt3g slide/cm7. Thank you for the fast response!
Mac
Works!
John
Needs gallery view option; default action button doesn't work properly on HTC Desire HD. Unresponsive developer.
Jason
It does a fantastic job of creating beautiful photography. However since upgrading when saving keeps saying error, unable to save. Will not save file
Thomas
No Flash support, picture OK When switching Flash to Auto in Settings, Force-close. When restarting App, Force-close. I have to clear data before starting again and set Flash to Off. However, pictures are better than with built-in camera. Have set Capture Mode to Slow mode 1. Fast will give no difference NEC N-06c GB 2.3.3
william
Improves camera greatly Needs a rescan feature
Gregory
Won't save to SD Card Very nice pictures, but it will not save photos to my Card. Motorola Triumph.
TJ
Unfortunately The images refuse to save to my device. Too bad I paid for this. Hopefully one day it will work.
Charlie
I have just about all the camera apps on my phone and this is my fave. The pics are very Sharp. I would give it 5 stars if there was a way to zoom.
Clint....and Trotski, Mr. T, Trotatorium. But you can call me Mr. Clint
Very nice Works great on Motorola Triumph. No issues. Takes very nice detailed pics in low light level.
Indygreg
has potential, but lots of issues #1 how it just creates the HDR image, saves it and then goes back to camera mode is just a bad design. Lets us see the pic for more than 1 second, and then decide on keeping it or not. #2 Should have a gallery feature built in - to see past pics you have done with this app. Every other photo app has that. #3 In only a few minutes of use, it crashed and locked the camera (which required a reboot to fix. Not exactly promising. If I had more than 15 minutes, I would have refunded
Velid
Doesnt even improve anything i took a picture with this hdr app and same picture with my phone camera. NOO diffrence at all plus its super slow.
Stacy
Love it! This app works great! 100% pleased with it. Takes awesome, vivid pictures on my Droid X2.
Michelle
Most impressive exposure. Super clean. Ultra sleek...
Ion
I am actually disappointed. The pics are like painted at zooming and colors are just unreal. I use all the time Pro HDR Camera that shots way better.
John
Definately improves photos for high-contrast scenes. Needs gallery view option; default action button doesn't work properly. HTC Desire HD
Kev D
Good Real good camera app. Great for getting sky as well as buildings and other foreground objects, well worth the cash
Peter
Does not work, for me. Droid Bionic. Not rooted. Tap the screen, and "Click, click, " Sometimes, "Click " Almost never is there a third click, almost never is there a photo generated. Also, when I select the photos icon at the bottom right, it asks me to select my viewing app. I choose "Gallery," and every time, it "stops unexpectedly." I have to force close it. Gallery works fine for all other uses on my phone.
Wai Pan
Still pictures only Shutter sound is annoying.. the shutter sound off setting is not working, please fix.
M1rth
As of latest version, no longer saves correctly. Final pics do not show in android picture viewer.
Rizzle
Great shots! My only complaint is that it auto saves before you have a chance to get a good look at the picture. Fix this for 5 stars!
Stephen
Great App Great app. Does everything it claims to do. Would love the ability to zoom. Add zoom and this app would be 10 stars.
Marksman
Great Pics Takes great pics, far better than any native cell phone camera I've used
AlphaCueUp
hdr with a few cool options this app works great for me...no issues with free version or the 2.99 payed joint....works like a dreamcake...also...love the saturation options
neilo.

Eric
Horrible This app won't even work properly. Uninstalled...
wayne
. Fix mute shutter and will be 5 stars
Steve
Amazing app, not only does it help take fantastic pics, it eliminates camera shake too. Time & updates will improve things further. Thank you
paul
Takes nice pics but 'Mute Shutter' not working. Limited settings not easily accessible. No zoom or access to full camera features. Disappointing! :-(
Sridhar
I am loving it Excellent on my galaxy s2
Paul
Fantastic! Better than my Nikon D90 and Photomatix pro on the desktop. Very sharp HDRs with no tripod. Would be nice to have zoom capability.
Mike
Seamless Wish I'd known about this 2 years ago. Great results!
Joel
Awesome app!
u89djt
A must-have This app has revolutionized my photo collection. Requires a little patience for it to take the three shots per image, but the outcomes are incredible. Never take a disappointing photo again. (If you've only seen iPhone HDR pics, then you haven't seen HDR.)
Great app. Ugly icon
Paul
Takes xlnt pics on galaxy s2. just mess with the settings for your phone. only thing missing is zoom. Not sure if it has it. well worth the money
MKrmec
App UI The two button UI is really lame... Put together a better on with direct shortcuts to features in settings.
Pete
Nice Pictures look good. Silent shutter doesn't work at first, but if you reboot droidx it works.
nix
Awesome little app, well worth the money. My only problem is that it fails to detect whether it has enough free space to save the pic to the SD card.
Kevin
Great app! Easy to use, and give good results. Only thing I really would add is control over ISO and maybe exposure per individual shot. But still a cool app!
Shadow Self
Works great on Nexus S Takes some great pics given the limitations of phone cameras. I would also love to see some more fine tuning options for exposure range and number of shots.
Webbipoika
In a situation where I would normally use manual controls and external flash I can now manage with this app. All I need to do is to touch the screen.
Jaybo or Yoni
How does one zoom?
WPWoodJr
Beautiful photos! I would never have believed that this app could be so good. You will take beautiful, impressive photos with it. One of the best apps
Imperial Library
Yes sir! Great app, easy to use, takes great hdr pictures. Colors are just plain impressive. Dev responds to emails. Don't need steady hand for clarity.
Guardrail Gino
Incredible I put the free version on my wife's phone and noticed it took the best camera phone photos I've ever seen and I have EVERY camera program.
mmconrad
In-credible! The best shots my phone has ever taken--even with the free version! HTC Glacier
sean
Excellent results. Can have a little trouble aligning fine details such as power lines, but generally photos look great.
Kevin
Very cool app! Hopefully, ISO and exposure per shot customization is added in a future update. Would get 5 stars then.
DrezzyB
Awesome app!
rb
With this app, I don't miss my DSLR anymore :-) Handy, single touch capture-to-processing. Even the free app provides decent controls for color saturation, contrast levels (moderate to make image look less artificial). Excellent handling of camera and subject motions. After using the free version, I bought the paid one! Additional in paid: GPS marking, flash control and shutter mute.
klaus e. werner
Brilliant! Just brilliant. Works amazingly well. Nexus S.
Patrick
Great. Love the app.
tonymy01
Fantastic shots can be achieved on my sgs2 now with high contrast scenery!
Oca
Very cool app The app. doesn't use your phone's flash! Other than that, pictures are very rich!
Sergio "BigRed"
Excellent Need a stady hand and some tweaking but results area impressive
Davina
Decent Pics Takes cool pics. I dont like how I cant view the picture from within the program...other than im good.
Mark
Best one yet I've tried the other Apps and none are true hdr. The plus you have the option to save the original shots to put in photoshop for more editing options
Damian
Excellent Does what it says. Excellent application. QUESTION: Do I remove HDR now that I have HRD+ ?
Stan
Great I look forward to more fixes and features, keep up the great work!
Matt
Issue still Update 11 August - Camera sound still can't be shut off on AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G with Gingerbread (selected but still makes sound).
u89djt
Breathtaking! Find the right settings. I use this on my HTC Desire and my Asus Transformer. The author provides a range of settings, and it is worth experimenting with them to find the right ones for you and your device. It takes a number of shots and chooses regions from each to give the best contrast, so you have to keep the camera reasonably still, but it does compensate extremely well for small movements. Wow. Seriously.
Steve
Incredible. True HDR! Fantastic for shots with mixed indoor/ outdoor subjects
Andy
Execellent hdr photos This is a true hdr application and takes terrific photos! Works smoothly on, nexus1 and gt10.1. Would be even better if it supports touch focus.
Mike A.
Loving this! Only annoyance is inability to permanently choose a picture viewer directly from the app. HTC Sensation.
Jason
Amazing app for the price. Didn't know my droid x was capable of such cool pictures. Shutter sound doesn't shut off, and 8mp setting force closes
Jim
Nice. Images tend to have a pastel-look. On galaxy s shutter sound does not switch off. On galaxy tab only 2 images are taken
Michael
Great app. I paid for +.Would get 5 stars if I could see full frame while shooting & 8mp didn't crash.8mp worx if I force close other apps.Thunderbolt
Dan
g2X Awesome! Didn't really expect HDR to look so nice from a phone! This app really works well on my g2x. The quality isn't a quite as nice as a dSLR, however you get a great shot in seconds with the HDR Camera+ app.
Bob
Seems to be working now... Images are good on mt3g slide.
David
A major improvement over the standard app. Excellent shadow detail and contrast. EVO 4G
don
Pics were good, but it took to long to snap the 3 shots. Then forced closed after each shot. Also, couldn't shut off shutter sound. Droid x.
Carlos C
After the last update I can't see my pictures anymore with my default picture viewer QuickPic, please fix it
Isak
Great App!!! This app makes much much much better images than the stock camera app. My food pictures will be much better. Can you keep the camera details with the image, such as camera maker, model, ISO speed, focal length, etc? Thanks a lot!!!
Charles
Image size Application locks up if 8 mega pixel is selected. Works ok at 5 mega pixel.
Matt
Camera sound can't be shut off on AT&T Atrix with Gingerbread (selected but still makes sound).
Mike Lyons
Great images. Hard to find output. Needs better instructions.
Chris
This app will not focus on higher resolution settings. it happened after the last update. Wish I could get my money back.
Works like a charm on my NS It takes a while to process pictures. If you want to be super awesome, let me take more pictures while you process the first one in the background.
enochsvision
After I figured out the optimal settings for my particular camera the results were much better than the stock gingerbread app, sharper also. ATRIX4g
Max
Great app Great app I love this app! The results look much better than the default Nexus S camera's. My only complaint is that there is no front facing cam opti
Noddy
Very Pleasing App Impressive quality of image and quite an achievement for a small app on a smartphone. Took a little while to play with the settings to get the best results for my preferences but it was time well spent as the results are great. So pleased that I bought it immediately. No complaints and am look forward to any future improvements.
Jeff
Cam. 360 is better
Joël Bourquard
Very good results... I get very good results with this app. Default settings give too much contrast, so I set both micro-contrast and local contrast to L
leohart
Great app for taking HDR shots It is clean. Fast. Can mute shutter sound and provide great output image.
mike
Why no zoom Samsung Captivate
velcry
Takes awesome photos. Breathed new life into my desire hd's photo-taking life!
Michael
Dramatic improvement over stock camera.
dashraptor
It Crashes My Acer. Crashes my Acer. Every few photos, it will crash the tablet's "camera" ability while taking an HDR picture (default settings at max res). This is a problem if I’ve set up for the perfect shot, since I have to work for 2 minutes to reboot/reset until I can take a picture. It sometimes takes nice pictures, but also sometimes forgets to properly make the exposure settings. And it runs in portrait mode only, which is cumbersome. Acer Iconia TAB A500.
defcon
Awesome Awesome Works nicely on cm7 on my Sts vibrant
Greg
Pics good, but doesn't re-align slightly shaky pictures, focus on close-ups not always good. Shutter sound turned off still has sounds. Galaxy S.
bradkieser
Huge improvement in picture quality over normal camera except for photoing moving things such as kids. Then you tend to get missing fingers etc
Robert
Takes excellent pictures. My only criticism is having to open my gallery to view the end result. An in app picture bower would be very useful.
mkanet
I don't understand. Why doesn't this app have a picture preview. It took me 5 minutes of disbelief trying to see why it wasn't doing that.
Goran
Takes every shot out of focus. Uninstalling. DX.
JoAnn
Excellent App! The pictures taken with HDR are stunning. There is no need for any retouching. I wish my digital cameras were this good. Well worth the money.
dexter
On my HTC Desire with Oxygen (2.3.4) results aren't that great compared to HDR pro.
tjdmobile
Pretty good! I bought this after having Pro HDR Camera for a while. The on-board HDR is superior on HDR camera+, but difficult to get the settings right. My Defy takes 4 pictures, my Aria and GalaxyS take 3 to fuse together (??). The Aria on CM7 has unpredictable exposure controls. Even when messing with the different capture modes, I see little difference between exposures (certainly not the +2 and -2 that the file name would suggest). I look forward to continued work on this app.
jollymon
Does not seem to change exposures between shots... Not hdr... On evo3d... Sense 3.0 gingerbread 2.3.3
Paul
Better than my Nikon D90 and Photomatix pro on the desktop.
patrick
Works great Samsung Captivate Great app, worth every penny, Works fine on Samsung Galaxy S
Dylan
Excellent app! Takes awesome pictures on such a small sensor. Some more advanced features like additional brackets would be great.
number8pie
Fantastic App - Only One Fault I love this app and I recommend anyone considering to buy it its easily worth the money, but it has one (and as I can see so far only one) fault. There is no manual focus. If the next update included a touch screen manual focus square, or even a slider I'd be a super happy guy. I have emailed the dev asking to include it, if you would like this feature in the next update please do the same (but don't spam him).
leohart
Awesome HDR app This app does an awesome job at creating HDR images. It has the free version that you can try before buying. It has options for widescreen, muting the shutter sound. And the capture speed is quite fast as well.
Cam
Great app. Simple but effective. Moving object handling worked very well. Mute shutter didn't work on my galaxy s 2.2.
logicnet.dk
Impressive quality even with hand held camera. Viewer doesn't work. HTC Legend
Chris
This app focuses in reverse on higher resolution settings. it happened after the last update. Wish I could get my money back.
lalo
Fast and good stitching I'd much like an option to set the exposures manually over the camera range instead of the "bright/normal" presets.
Jean Quint
Wonderful app for galaxy S, especially in low light situations.
kishore
Good in the HTC desire hd but 3 time the snap was taking the object , if we shake the phone the image are miss ordered .
number8pie
Impressed so far... [Samsung Galaxy S] Jut downloaded this app after reading about HDR Photography, I've only taken one photo so far to test it out against the stock camera and I'm impressed. Much better color and image depth. Looking forward to playing around with it, and creating some very nice photos.
ammon
Great app, but lacks ability to manually define the ranges it takes pics with or #of pics it uses. 5 stars when this happens........
Myles
Works well on HTC Incredible S Produces some stunning images, indeed some better than I can achieve on my desktop. Can't use the highest res settings, but the app does warn you that they might not work. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. Do not hesitate to buy this one!
Damian
Does what it says. Excellent application. QUESTION: Do I remove HDR now that I have HRD+ ?
randomizer324
Seems to be a good app, but manual exposure is not an option. Seems like ALL autom. taken HDR-pics are too dark / too bright for the app.
Josh
Needs to be able to use the flash for high exposure images.
Maximilian
Really, really good - and fast! Looking forward to improvements in the UI!
Nina
Force close every time on thunderbolt when u try to take photo at full 8mp res. Want my $ back
Matti
Great hdr camera! Love my photos. Same high resolution force close issue as had been stated before tho
Bruce
Works great, but.. I love this app and it seems to do a great job producing super results. However, if the highest resolution is chosen to save pictures (8m) then it forces a close every time. Works fine at lower resolutions so it is not that big of a problem at least for me. Other than that I would give it 5 stars.
Ariel
Would be nice to have 5 exposures to mix instead of only 3.
Trogdor
On my phone (htc legend) seems to need more time top change exposure, had to turn on re-focus+ slow 1. Works good after that.
ORI0N
Best hdr I've found to date. Love the fact that it can save the orig pics too. Droid X.
Wimpy
This is an amazing application. I've had it for about 2weeks now and have taken some great pictures. The quality is on oar with a low end dslr.
Peter
110% Superb! This app deserves more than 5 stars. It is indeed a great buy.
Mike Slybob
It's a great app for improving the dynamic range on the phone: I now use it in preference of the standard camera for relatively static shots.
Jonathan
My new favorite camera app!
DuckOfDeath
Fast and stable on the Galaxy S2. Need a built in option to preview the result, so you don't have to open the gallery to check the result.

Very good!... But needs flash controls
James
Already upgraded to to the paid version.
Chris Kuethe
OK but needs work. I would like to see standard camera controls like flash, manual focus, white balance, and improved low-light performance. It's a good start to HDR on android though. Also, check your trash if you've emailed them and not heard back - my spam filter ate their reply.
