Something interesting is going on in the Android Market this morning. A bunch of our favorite apps are suddenly going for a dime, with no real rhyme or reason for the discount. @dirkyd3rlc and @Pat_Huey on Twitter alerted us to SwiftKey and Minecraft on sale for 10 cents, and we've found others. (Update: And in the UK, the apps are going for 10p each, not 6p, which would be converted from 10 cents U.S. We definitely smell a trend here.) Here's the list as it stands. There may be others. (Sing out in the comments if you spot any.) Can't tell if this is a glitch (which seems a tad unlikely), or some sort of coordinated effort. Regardless, might as well take advantage.

I've played a bit of the campaign and skirmish modes on my touchpad running cm7. Similar to advance wars. The success ratings per level are well tuned - hard to get the top rating on a first or second try. Some details on rules are not obvious, or movement on map squares, so I spend some time experimenting. There's a one move undo that helps with this, would be nice if that allowed further undo.

For the developers, I'll start with a suggestion; there should be more more variety in the single map games. More opponents, more large maps, and different/customizable goals. This game is the most fun i've played on my phone. As addictive as some of my favorite games on other platforms. Awesome graphics and animations, challenging campaigns with medals for faster completion, and great variety of units. strategy allows more complexity with terrain levels/types also.

I wasn't sure about downloading this but glad I did. Running on a stock Samsung Captivate 2.3.5 Gingerbread and this game looks very good indeed. Like the fact that the graphics can be scaled up or down, as this should help it function on more devices as well as maybe save on battery if needed by running on lower settings. Graphics on high setting are smooth on my phone. Only complaint is that if my screen times out then the game takes a while to bring back up. One of the best games I've found.

Very decent game for droid platform. Smooth interface, decent concept, and humor. Turn based strategy is a fantastic genre for droid platform and works well here. Game gets a touch repetetive and the AI is sometimes irrational but as an engaging diversion while the bus is stuck in traffic this product works well.

Some games are instantly recognisable from their classic roots. This is one of them. Despite some poor response at times - which doesn't impact gameplay because it's turn based - it's a great fun game to play, and an excellent one to keep on my tablet for moments when I can have a few turns. I'd note it freezes sometimes, but that switching to the home screen and back cures it.

Picked this gem up during the ten cent download special. It was a steal for a great game. Lots of different infantry and vehicle units make you really think about how to best capture the enemy's base. After the campaign mode, you still have plenty of skirmish maps to play through, too. I've been playing the game for a couple of days now and I really like it! The devs did a great job of making a rich, complex game work well with a touch interface. My only complaint (and reason for 4 stars) is that, while u can zoom in/out, there's no way to change the *angle* of the camera. With so much of the game relying on strategic elevated positioning of your units, it seems like a pretty big oversight not to be able to change the perspective of the camera. Two-finger tilt/rotate please! :)

I rarely buy games or apps from the android market, normally i just keep myself entertained with the free ones, BUT... I decided to buy this game and i don't regret it one bit!!!! If you like Command and Conquer you'll love this game - only difference is, its turn based. I would however suggest to the developers to introduce weapon and unit upgrades with wich one can improve your existing unit's stats etc.

When I found this game, I was shocked that a turn based, hex-based, playable-looking war-game was out on the Android platform. Excitedly, I bought the game and began playing it. At first, it seems like a hex-based Advance Wars; sadly, it is not NEARLY as well designed as AW. Even in the first 20 minutes of play I noticed a few really bad design errors: * No summoning sickness * Snipers are GODLY powerful * Terrain mostly means nothing For mobile games it's above avg, but overall I cannot recommend this

This is a really good rendition of turn-based strategy (similar to Advanced Wars, XCOM, and others). Fun graphics, useable 3D terrain, and plenty of strategy options. However, I just CAN'T give 5 stars to a turn-based strategy game that doesn't let me play with my friends remotely. Sure, you can pass your phone back and forth (honestly, who would ever do that?), but it really needs the ability for network play. 5th star when that gets implemented. Otherwise, awesome game!

I tried it lastweek and it would not work. I noticed in the what's new section that it fixed the bug on startup so I tried again. Now I just get a message saying it thinks I've restored it from a backup or something and wont start. Absolute waste of my time. Samsung galaxy s2.

Been part of the beta test group - this game is a must purchase for strategy fans (particularly fans of Advance Wars styled games), and people who haven't previously been strategy fans will be converts after trying their hand at this one.

This looks and runs great on my EVO 3D. This is more than a clone of advance wars, it takes that formula, and in my opinion, improves on it. One

Loving the game until it locked up the Xoom and a reboot was needed. Otherwise, this is an excellent game, fun voice characters, nice turn base game. Just fix the glitches ad it is a 4 stars.

Fun turn-based strategy game. Nice gfx and controls. Make sure to set the gfx to "Low" if you have an older device. (HTC EVO)

Excellent turn based strategy! Advance Wars fans will love it. Had my eye on this for months after hearing about it on iThingies. Glad it works on my lowly ARMv6 based ZTE Blade!

+1 artifact issue on HTC sensation after 1 min of play time. Artifacts even continued after app was closed necessitating a reset. dissappointed :-(
