Google updated its Google Chrome to Phone Android app with two new features. First of all, you’ll notice a new (improved) look and feel. Perhaps even more important is the added landscape support, which for some reason was missing from the initial app. You may be browsing (and consequently using Google Chrome to Phone) in a portrait mode exclusively, but I’m sure folks with side-sliding phones (those with QWERTY keyboards and perhaps the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY) more often than not rely on landscape view. Finally, this release also fixes crash that occurred when copying text from Chrome to the mobile device. All in all, if you use Chrome on your PC or Mac, and also happen to have an Android device, you simply must have this app installed. Google Chrome to Phone is by far one of my favorite apps on Android. C2P has further solidified its place in my heart with a new update that now includes link history. The latest version includes a change that will break down the history of links pushed from the desktop to Android according to date. There are headers for Today, Last 7 Days, Last Month, and Older, and within each category is a list of links sent during that time period. This works well on my gnex 4.0.4 & tbh I don't understand why it only works in 1 direction surly if it can go 1 way it can go the other with a little work. But if your using chrome on all your devices its just as easy to save a bookmarks on your account!

HTC Sensation: was using heaps, worked fine - except most links came through to the phone twice. But sometime in the last 2-3 weeks it stopped working altogether. Now I just get "unable to connect" error when trying to run through acct setup on the phone. Uninstalled & reinstalled - no improvement. Pls fix! Love this app.

This app used to work really well on my Galaxy S II but then suddenly, it was taking 20 minutes for anything to show up on my phone after I sent it. So I decided to reinstall the app to see if that would help and now it won't even let me sign in. I use this application all the time so now I'm having withdrawals. Hopefully it's fixed and soon.

This is great when it works but that only seems to be for a day or two after you install the app. I sent pages & highlighted text to my phone in a matter of seconds. Now every time I use it, it doesn't send anything or if it does it takes HOURS. This has happened the last few time I've used this. Fully signed in on phone and chrome, I don't see why it's not working now other than it's pretty crap.

This app is immensely useful, although, not as much for devices that aren't constantly connected. For instance, on a 4G phone, you could load a web-page on your phone from your laptop whilst on your way out the door. Not so with a wifi tablet or mp3 player (like my own). However, the ability to load maps onto your phone from the browser is very useful on a GPS connected device (like my own) that is a feature I love. Thank you Google!

It would be great to have a feature for the opposite, "Phone to Chrome" without having to use a 3rd party app. The 3rd party apps demonstrate that it is possible, so it would be very nice if it were added to this app. The only issue would be renaming it, but since Android Market just changed its whole name to Google Play, obviously that isn't as big an issue as it would seem.

Was looking for a bookmark importer. This claimed to do it. However, it just allows you to see your Chrome browsing history. Does *NOTHING* to import your bookmarks. Well, it could if you wanted to click on every bookmark you have at your PC before repeating it on your phone/tablet... and then bookmarking them again.

Awesome. I sent directions from Maps directly to my phone to look at later with one click. It took about 10 seconds for my phone to receive it. It definitely made finding where I was going a lot easier and a lot faster than looking it up on my phone. I think a lot of people don't realize that you have to install it on Chrome from its web store, as well (and follow the set-up guide on the phone). You should also check the descriptions to see if you ACTUALLY have the version that it SAYS is required - I've seen a lot of complaining about that (that's the user's own problem). Again, this is awesome. Thanks!

The instructions for setting up this app could use a bit more clarification as there seems to be much confusion during the setup process. I was unable to successfully set this app up correctly on my first attempt, and quickly lost interest in investing the time to troubleshoot. From what I've read, there are many other users that ran into various issues with the app's setup that resulted in similar disapointment and disinterested. Will troubleshoot, when the time is available. The app seems very useful.

Lately I cant sign into the browser extension. Just says " redirecting to authorization" then hangs. Been like this for days now. Kinda makes the app friggin useless. If this an actual Google app, then why cant being signed into Google browser be enough......my phone is linked to same account. But I have to seperately sign into the extension..... On my GT-N7000, used to work flawlessly on GB, but hasn't worked since I upgraded to the I9220 leaks, and its not the ROM, cuz it doesn't work on my Nexus S running CM9, not on my friend's Galaxy Nexus, I love Chrome to Phone, please fix it Google.... Note: its works sometimes randomly, but takes minutes to be received at the phone's end, defeating the purpose, its instantaneous on GB, what happened? It get received after its no longer needed, as its faster to just create a QR code and scan it, that's IF it gets received on the phone to begin with....

The recent change to the behavior of sending selected text has crippled the primary usefulness of this app for me. I would frequently use it to send long strings of text to my Android phone clipboard that would be painful to have to type on the device itself. At least enable a choice to turn this feature back on!

However, after sending my first link to try it out, my phone started receiving links from other open tabs in my chrome browser that I did not send. Also, once received, I can't make my notification ringer stop unless I go into the task manager in System Tuner (or similar app) and kill this app.

This app was great! Now it just plain sux! I hate to be so negative, but Google apps and android were the proverbial "Shizz" if you get my meaning! Why has Chrome to phone just "quit" working? Why can't any one of the quadrillion Android gurus out there at least put up a post saying something? "Sorry, experiencing technical difficulties" would suffice! And while I'm standing tall on my soapbox, why do I have to have "chocolate ice cream sandwich frick frack hyperbolic anerocerator" to get a Google Chrome Browser on my phone? Granted, it's just a Atrix with 2.3.4 (Gingerbread I believe, cute name). One would think a Google device could run a GOOGLE BROWSER! I'm just a customer, buying this stuff and no I don't have the "mad skillz" to"root" or whatever. I shouldn't have to! Anyway I need to step down, I'm sure someone else wants to climb up on the box and gripe. I still love Android,AND Google so could at least ONE of you folks at R&D or where ever you highly paid geniuses hang out and play foosball, ping pong and pinball to let off the "stress" figure something out? Thanks a lot, and you guys still rock! Just FIX THESE THINGS!

I've used this app forever, and have only had one issue with it. Sometimes it sends things to my phone twice, which is annoying to constantly hear the alert going off twice for one link if I'm sending multiple links. Otherwise, this app is a lifesaver for me. I seriously love Chrome to Phone. I am an avid online reader and it's so easy to search for good stuff and just send the link through C2P for reading mobile later. It also stores all my links so I don't lose them. Even updating to my new smartphone, I had no issues with installing. I did, however, have to resend all my links again and lost a lot of the ones from my old phone. It would be nice to have some way to transfer them or back them up somewhere, but it was a small annoyance. Great app!

Over the last couple of months, Chrome to Phone seems to have broken functionality. No problem sending a link to the current page I am viewing in Chrome and no problem sending a link when I use the right-mouse. What's broken is the sending of text to the phone's clipboard. I used to be able to highlight some text on a webpage, right-mouse-click and say Chrome to Phone. The highlighted text would be put into my phone's clipboard. Now what is sent to my phone is the URL of the page I am on. Bummer!

When trying to send a test selection to a device, the previous version would crash. The crash problem has been fixed. But sending a text selection to a phone now generates a "selection" notification that doesn't do anything except open the Google home page the browser. I'm running ICS on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

I use this app a lot. Mostly to send phone numbers and addresses to my phone when using a computer. However, I somehow set the default action and cannot undo it. Now if is send a phone number or address it wants to open the webpage instead of just having the text in the clipboard. very annoying.

Used to have 5 stars but recently the app's behaviour has changed on my RAZR. When a link arrives, the PHONE ringtone comes on and WILL NOT STOP unless I reboot the phone. App should use the Notification Ringtone and should not require a reboot to stop the sound.

First of all, when you get it to work its a pleasant experience. But im getting this "enable to connect" runaround. I found that connecting via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, I was able to connect to the networks. Still able to send links over the mobile network till it needs to log in again. Hopefully that'll help someone out in figuring out the problem (;

While this was always an under performing piece of software feature wise, recent performance is ABYSMAL. Links that used to show up in a few seconds now take several minutes (if they show up at all) Tried reinstalling, didn't help. Very sad Google. Running Galaxy Nexus with latest ICS release.

Amazing and useful -- when it works. There are days when it doesn't seem to push. I just sent a link to my phone and it took about 2 seconds. Then a moment later I sent another and it took about 5 minutes. I figured it was broken until my phone beeped. Frustrating.

Worked flawlessly on my old phone (HTC Aria) but now on my Samsung Galaxy S2 it is intermittent. As mentioned in a previous post it seem that right now the QR code created by a browser extention (I use goo.gl url Shortener) and Barcode Scanner is your best bet.

Love it! It's extremely useful being able to send numbers, links, images and pages from your browser to your phone. I'm using Fox to Phone in Firefox as well. I can only give this four stars, though, because the app is hardwired to portrait mode... too bad for us tablet users who have to run in landscape mode when docked, I guess.

Weird app. Useful in a very specific way. Simply transfer very basic work from laptop to mobile so you can pick up at the site you left off. Absolutely don't understand someones comment about being able to watch netflix now. This app does nothing to help you watch netflix. Guy was just being a jerk. But I guess its an okay that has definitely been overstated and overrated in what it offers to android users.

Great idea... and when it work's it's great and so useful. But it's not reliable. Sometimes the push works instantly... and sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes. A better solution is to use a QR code extension for your favourite browser and Barcode Scanner to read the code. It's instant and guaranteed to work.

Well, sort of. I have a droid 2, and had an testing rom on it that dropped usb support. I couldn't mount my drive to update my phone, what to do? I went to the rom page, chrome to phone, and downloaded the new rom from the page on my phone. Reinstalled, works beautifully. Works as advertised! Thanks again, Google, for controlling everything for me!

I have a low range android phone and was offered a swap for an i phone, but after I learned that Chrome To Phone is not on ios I wouldn't swap! I went to the rom page, chrome to phone, and downloaded the new rom from the page on my phone. Reinstalled, works beautifully. Works as advertised! Love it! It's extremely useful being able to send numbers, links, images and pages from your browser to your phone. I'm using Fox to Phone in Firefox as well. I can only give this four stars, though, because the app is hardwired to portrait mode... too bad for us tablet users who have to run in landscape mode when docked, I guess.

Absolutely don't understand someones comment about being able to watch netflix now. This app does nothing to help you watch netflix. Guy was just being a jerk. Great idea... and when it work's it's great and so useful. But it's not reliable. Sometimes the push works instantly... and sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes. A better solution is to use a QR code extension for your favourite browser and Barcode Scanner to read the code. It's instant and guaranteed to work.

I have a low range android phone and was offered a swap for an i phone, but after I learned that Chrome To Phone is not on ios I wouldn't swap! I heartily recommend this app if like me you're always switching between using your laptop and being on the go with your android phone. It is awesome!
