Another one of the great things about Android (if you’re a geek or a tinkerer) is that you have lower-level access to the system itself. Astro is an app that lets you navigate the Android file system, which is mostly just interesting, but can be handy once in a while. I’m obsessed with running speed tests to check my bandwidth in various places, both to see 3G/4G fluctuations and to check the quality of Wi-Fi. There are a number of really good speed test apps, but my favorite is the Speedtest.net app. It’s generally consistent and it has some of the best graphics and options. I’ve never completely warmed up to the Amazon Kindle e-reader, but I’m a big fan of the Kindle mobile app.

Hard to believe it can't sync my website portfolio to this app. I use the website for live ASX index feeds when on the road. Website works great, this app can't even find the same indices, so it displays an empty portfolio. It also doesn't refresh the main US Index page automatically. Yet another half-baked Google app for their own platform, WTF?

Switched to Google Finance from CNBC Real-time which quit working. Like Google Finance capabilities: near real-time quotes updates & auto-sorts by % change. Also nice that the App portfolio auto-synchronizes with PC Google Finance portfolio. Charts are ok but a little small and difficult to read... could be improved.

The only function of this app is to simply give the price of a us company. Nohing more. Im surprised at the lack of capabilities especially NO CURRENCY PAIRS, and limited to just one market. This app would be perfect if it included: global markets (no tsx...really?), currency pairs (including non majors), commodities, basic tech analysis, DIVIDEND/YIELD. This app has a lot of potential but honestly the last time I had so few options with an app I was wearing Patrick Ewing.

I want to see the value and total return of my portfolio. This app shows DOW/S&P500/NASDAQ, and the current price of each item in your portfolio. And News, unrelated to contents of portfolio. Needs more portfolio centric workflow, and even adding transaction data including cash-linking and date/time.

The Widgets do not update like they should. I currently have 2 day old data ( yes I adjusted updating interval). Sometimes it says "loading" perpetually. The only fix is to remove then re-add the widget which is not practical. I am wondering if it is my nexus galaxy (which I am fed up with and returning Friday). Phone is a fail. Was working great for months. All of a sudden dropped all ETF stocks. Tried uninstalling and reinstall. No luck. Downgrading it to junk. Update: Why are we putting up with this junk? ETFs being dropped, now back, after Nov '11 update. These are third class updates from Google. If you don't know how to code, then leave the sh*t as it is and not send us updates every so often.

This great app keeps me up to speed in real-time, on my stocks I'm trading. The only problem its if I try to add the ticker ZNGA. It force closes every time. Even with an uninstall/reinstall it won't work. Every other one does though.

I'm using Nexus S and on website, I've synced TSE:OSPTX to my mobile portfolio, but it won't sync to the app and thus can't make a widget for it. Also, no widget for USD-CAD. Other than that perfect. Edit: No Crude oil quote either. Fix this please.

When you have multiple portfolios they all get packed together and information is quite cluttered. There is not way to pick and choose as it is on Web version. This makes otherwise good apps quite ineffective.

Works well on my Epic 4G Touch. Very simple and quick view of major indicies and access to my portfolio and news. I like the intial opening screen because it tells me at an instant what the markets are doing. Could use some larger fonts and pinch zoom for the articles.

It does Sync your portfolio, but only the symbols and prices for what you have in the portfolio. It does not sync total shares (and by extension total portfolio value) or cost basis. It does Sync your portfolio, but only the symbols and prices for what you have in the portfolio. It does not sync total shares (and by extension total portfolio value) or cost basis. I would like to see this fixed in the next version. If you want to see that data you must login to the desktop website. Droid X

Unfortunately, this makes it useless to me (YMMV), so uninstalling. Google, please update this application to handle Canadian stocks. Your web version handles Canadian stocks, so it should be fairly straightforward to update the application.
