The term "Active Hazards" refers to a collection of current and real-time incidents (compiled from authoritative sources) which have been designated "potentially hazardous to people, property, or assets" by the PDC DisasterAWARE™ application.
The application is a free download.
PDC Active Hazards currently includes:
-Hurricane/Tropical Cyclone (global)
-Earthquake (global)
-Flood (global)
-National Weather Service High Surf (for Hawaii)
-National Weather Service High Wind (for Hawaii)
-National Weather Service Flood (for Hawaii)
-Manmade (global)
-Marine (global)
-Storm (global)
-Tsunami (global)
-Volcano (global)
-Wildfire (global)- coming soon!
Other hazards will be added over time.
Application features include:

I live in Hawaii and did not enjoy the tsunami icon when there isn't one. If there is information about events like an earthquake that did not create a tsunami the icon should be an I or have an I with the symbol to distinguish between the two without having to wait for a page to load. I would like an app I can have earthquake, tsunami and volcanic information but this one isn't it after my near heart attack.

It works, but how soon a warning is issued n posted is a question. Much more helpful is it rings n vibrate when user is within warning zone

Wait, updates every 5 minutes? That's terrible. App developers, please pay attention to this: BATTERY BATTERY BATTERY BATTERY. An app that people will likely never check, updating and sucking battery every 5 frickin' minutes? That's insane. Add push notifications NOW. Otherwise this app needs to be taken off the market.

Only dangerous earthquakes (>5.0) are reported, otherwise the map would be cluttered with earthquakes everywhere.
