When the GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus was released last month, many were a bit bummed to see that Flash wasn’t yet supported for Ice Cream Sandwich. Adobe quickly responded to say that it was working on getting Android 4.0 support out the door as soon as possible and today is that day. It’s definitely nice to see that new Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners didn’t have to wait that long before they could cruise the interwebs with Flash in tow. With Adobe abandoning Flash in favor of HTML5, this may well be one of the last few updates we see for Android. Either way, support for Ice Cream Sandwich was imperative and it’s cool to see that Adobe wastes no time getting it out. With Adobe killing mobile Flash in the browser, malware writers may have a tougher time attacking Android. Most exploit packs target Flash and other Adobe products, including Flash Player for Android. In fact Adobe updated its mobile Flash Player just today to version 11.1.102.59, which fixed "critical" security vulnerabilities intended for PC users. As a result, not including Flash reduces the operating system's threat levelbut by how much? "[Attackers] will have to look elsewhere," said Fraser Howard, principle malware researcher at Sophos. A new, minor update to Adobe’s Flash Player 10.1 for Android has hit the market. The new update brings Flash’s version number to 10.1.106.16, though a lack of change log or blog announcement from Adobe suggests this is another minor update providing fixes and tweaks here and there. Flash 10.1 has an update available in the Android market, although we’re not sure exactly what it does. For whatever reason, Adobe doesn’t like to include a “recent changes” list when releasing updates so we’ll just assume that it’s a bug fixer. Why would we assume that? If you've got Flash installed on your device you'll want to make sure you grab the latest update Adobe has just rolled out. v10.1.105.7 is now showing as available in the Android Market. We'd love to tell you from the changelog what, exactly, is new but since Adobe neglected to include one we were forced to ask them ourselves. Upon doing so we can now confirm that it's just a bug-fix release. That all said, we'll use this space to make a plea to Android developers out there. The latest update is causing my acer icona a500 tablet pc problems when playing streaming video content and you tube, a black streak flashes at intervals on the, to left corner of what I am viewing, ..... Installing the update fixes this and video content streamed is therefor good again

Flash works, but its laggy on every Android device. Tablets, phones, gaming devices. Not Flashes problem, this is a Android architectural problem. Definitely not the full, smooth flash experience you're used to on PCs. But it still works, better than having no flash at all ;) thanks Adobe! Hope you keep supporting mobile flash.

Just upgrade from flash 10, i recieved a huge performance gain on any site that uses flash on opera, just remember to set to desktop mode for the full experience. You can even go on armorgames and play flash games there its awesome.

I have tried to use this with my lectures and they just won't load. They are around an hour long and the videos just buffer but never load. They load just fine on Windows and my brother's android phone. I have tried different browsers and different websites, but the story is always the same when trying to load long Flash videos.

Seems to only load for sites specifically designed for mobile browsers-even the Flash Player Settings app will open a page that displays nothing! I assume that's because its laid out like the regular page for said settings. It's a pretty stupid quagmire. Update; Took a star.

After installing the latest update a few days ago, I noticed that the BBC site always crashed when I changed to the desktop site. This never happened previously. Some other sites with graphics content had a similar problem. I uninstalled the update and the sites worked generally, but they need Flash to work properly. Reinstalled it, but crash problems returned so I removed it once more. Conclusion: BUGGY !!!

Just terrible since ics update flash videos are choppy when watching streams from websites and this never happened when I was on gingerbread 2.3.4. Done clean install tried everything used different browsers but no joy. This is becoming a nightmare for users upgraded from 2.3 to 4.0 please fix. GALAXY S2 and some bonehead is suggesting to get rid of the bloatware and custom rom without knowing that this is a genuine bug with flash player for machines that run ics. Droid 3, Android 4.0. Run it in on demand mode, Flash place holders show up, but once I click them they never load the actual Flash Object. Tried uninstall then reinstall, rebooting, and on demand/always on Flash in every combination but it still doesn't work. Tried it on multiple sites: Youtube, MBL.com, Vimeo, ComedyCentral.com

Used to not have Flash problems, but with this latest update to v11 has caused many sites to report that I NEED Flash to view them (really?), including ebay. Since upgrading my tablet to android 4.0.1 I'm unable to use the flash player. It keeps saying its not installed in device when it is. What's going on, please fix this? most sites use adobe flash so I can't do anything interactive if required. Really spoiling my user experience.

This is truly a great update, but the one thing that "I" don't like is the fact that it DOES NOT WORK with Chrome beta app, but does work just fine with pre installed browser. Hope this was helpful to you.

I'm on a custom ics sense 4.0 Rom on my EVO 3d and this update made YouTube look like a slideshow with audio in the backround. It was working perfectly before this update. If you updated and websites tell you that you need Flash installed, just Uninstall, and reinstall. That fixes the issue, it worked on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy S2. Hope this helps you. Thanks for this Adobe and I truly hope you do not discontinue Android support. That will be a huge bummer.
I recently updated my sgs2 to ics and ever since videos that are played from browsers have been laggy and choppy. YouTube, dailymotion etc. I never had this problem with Android 2.3. Please find a solution to this problem. I don't know whether the problem is with adobe flash player or my phone :(

I have a galaxy s fascinate, most people say this doesn't work well for thier galaxy. Well....get your head out your butts, and get rid of your bloat ware. A simple root, no rom will help with that. According to samsung, we have the most robust phones. So learn how to use it. 6stars

Just got I'Ve and flash is simplified and reduced in use. Cannot enlarge videos to full screen not accurately change time point in videos. One good note is that after an insane amount of tries when it does allow time point changes it doesn't freeze the video fully requiring a refresh of the page. Was on GB with flash 11 and worked fine! Please fix ability to toggle collection as it makes or breaks the product compared to previous version. SGS2 Epic Touch 4g

1. When in settings/ applications/ manage, the size is shown as 12mb> (not <5mb) 2. On some sites (iplayer, 4od), the flash player is not recognized. On others, using a flash element will cause the browser to close. An update is not an update if it's a step backwards. Fix this disgusting error.

People who are complaining. Simply by having this won't make your device have flash. Your phone must be a high end flash COMPATIBLE device. If it is not then you are wasting your time. Most flash compatible devices already have this on it from factory. If it didn't it probably isn't flash compatible.

Using flash on a mobile can be a pain, often it's cpu intensive and not designed for touch usage. But it is still incredibly handy to have when you find yourself on a website that requires it to function properly.

It's great that the stock Internet browser supports Adobe Flash but I prefer to use other browsers which don't seem to offer Flash support. Apart from this point it's a nice inclusion to the Android OS.

I don't know what is at fault Tegra2 or This flash...with the power of Tegra2 you expect to play 1080p YouTube etc. But this struggles to even play 720p! Other streams don't work...if its Atrix issue? Coz those streams play fine in Sony Ericsson xperia ray. I think this is why I won't buy android in future. Half devices play something other don't in gingerbread. This fragmentation is retarded. I will try windows mobile or go back to iPhone this android sucks!

Ruined flash experience on my droid x . Was perfect now freezes up constantly. Ended up pulling battery while device was on, waited 2 minutes and installed battery and now seems to be working better. Doesn't get hot or drain battery. Still glitchy but better.

I read reviews for months,saw some good some bad. I updated on my dell streak 7 tablet but not on my phone. That way if it didnt work I still have access if it did I would upload to phone as well. It does not work. It stutters youtude feeds an any other vids it does same or will not play at all. How do I unstall update ? It worked before now it does not.

After the update my Galaxy S Plus is so slow it crashes things like Clock or seizes up the telephone when using the browser! Disabling Flash made the difference, so please submit a patch after careful testing. Thank you.

Now this is why I go to android vs iPhone. Flash has helped me in so many ways i love it! There may be glitches with flash but hey every app has its bugs. So far flash has help me watch movies and other content on the web i could not get on the iphone or itouch and im very proud to have it on my phone! keep it up with the bug fixes and great software Adobe!!! Without flash the web would be pointless.

360p video just about watchable, 480p renders at about 2-3fps. Surely this shouldn't be the case - Tegra 2 can play 720p (non-flash) video without any problems... Edit: I've installed CM7.2 and it's quite a bit better without all the LG bloatware. Changed my rating because I'm generous like that.

This app is still a necessity in today's browsing experience, even though html5 is out there is still an abundance of content that is flash only, and this app delivers that experience on the mobile and quite successfully too. As with anything there is always some bugs and stuff but that's due to the fact that many of the Flash content is designed for desktops in mind not mobiles. For those who are complaining about no apps2sd this app is not compatible with that because it's a browser plugin not an app

If Flash isn't working. 1 uninstall flash. 2 reboot phone or soft reset. 3 reinstall Flash player. Try it. Worked for me on Motorola Electrify.

don't install any updates for this on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. any online tv catchup site displays a flickering black triangle when viewed in full screen. this goes away when you uninstall all updates and go back to original. i've checked every time they update this but it hasn't been fixed yet

Not fantastic but the only option. Flash needs all those permissions and can't go to your SD card because it's required for so many things your phone does, especially in the browser. It has to be open and instantly accessible to your phone at all times and no, that isn't possible without major lag if it's on the SD card. If you bought a budget device with limited memory, this is one of those things you're going to need to save that memory for. This is why those devices are cheaper - they have shortcomings.

im using the GALAXY TAB P1010 running froyo 2.2.1 because there hasnt been a gingerbread update available for it and i think there never will be. this galaxy tab wasnt cheap in south africa..and i dont see how samsung or google whoever releases the firmware updates cant or wont realease for this tab. the front camera wont work on the tab with most camera apps without a firmware update to gingerbread either. and well getting hold of samsung support is another story. i guess ill check twice to see if there is a firmware update before buying a samsung or android product. so thanks adobe for supporting the froyo 2.2.1 and i hope u still will in future..otherwise i may as well break it in a million pieces and send back to samsung thanks

Horrible performance when it does work. Even if u can get to buttons, it doesnt mean they will work or their hitbox will be close to the button

Great AP but desperately needs AP to SD capability. Would be 5 stars with that added.

Although I am using HD2 with android flash is running great on my phone. Little cons: -lag on scroll. -Having flash on demand sometimes does not work.
